DUI: Karen Bergstrom blacks out and causes crash; tells officers she is a “major alcoholic”

60-year-old Karen Bergstrom was involved in a multi-vehicle accident near Old Hickory Boulevard and Nolensville Pike at 3:38 p.m. on May 31st. Following the crash, Bergstrom was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital for medical treatment. When officers arrived at the hospital, she told them that she had no memory of the collision or why she was in Nashville. Bergstrom advised them that she is a “major alcoholic,” that she starts drinking early in the morning, and has drinking-related blackouts. Due to her neck brace, officers only prompted her with one sobriety test, in which she showed signs of impairment. After being informed of implied consent, she agreed to provide a blood sample and was issued a state citation for the occurrence. Bergstrom was booked on the citation of driving under the influence on June 24th.

DUI: Patrick Borden jailed after falling asleep in the middle of an intersection

31-year-old Patrick Borden was found unconscious in a vehicle at the Harding Pike and Woodmont Boulevard intersection at 5 a.m. on June 27th. Officers contacted medics assistance and were advised to wake Borden. Officers then Mirandized Borden, at which time they admitted to having three alcoholic drinks around midnight. Bordon refused to take sobriety tests or provide a chemical sample. Officers noted Borden reeked of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication, so they detained them for the incident. Borden was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and an implied consent violation and transported to booking.

Bristyl Baker jailed after drunken escapade at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville

27-year-old Bristyl Baker was observed leaning against a pole near the 1st Avenue South and Broadway intersection at 10:45 p.m. Thursday night. Officers noticed that Baker couldn’t stand up by herself and that it appeared that she was under the influence of an intoxicant before losing sight of her. Officers then observed her walking behind Ascend Amphitheater and attempting to open a locked door until she proceeded to trip over a curb. After this, officers approached her and discovered that she was visibly impaired. Baker told them she did not know where she lived and had no friends or family able to retrieve her. Baker was deemed a danger to herself and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Danette Colbert fights with man in front of Moxy Hotel in downtown Nashville

47-year-old Danette Andrea Colbert was seen in an altercation with a male in front of the Downtown Nashville Moxy early Friday morning. While officers patrolled 3rd Avenue South, they were flagged down regarding the fight. When they approached the hotel, they observed Colbert being aggressive towards the male, yelling and pushing him until officers separated them. During their interaction, they noticed that Colbert reeked of an alcoholic beverage and was visibly intoxicated. Colbert stated that she had been at the bar inside Moxy with the male she had met while bar-hopping on Broadway. Colbert was deemed a danger to herself and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.

Drunken Canadian Jessey-James Holdsworth jailed in downtown Nashville after shaking woman

36-year-old Jessey-James Holdsworth was seen visibly intoxicated and shaking a woman at the Moxy Hotel in downtown Nashville on June 28th. When the officers arrived, they saw a large crowd outside the hotel. Upon investigating, officers noticed Holdsworth behaving aggressively, shaking, and yelling at a woman. Officers attempted to separate the two. However, Holdsworth continued to pursue the unidentified woman. Officers attempted to detain Holdsworth, but he continued to argue and pulled his arms away when officers grabbed them. After eventually being detained, he told officers that the woman he was talking to had stolen money from his back pocket while he was using the bathroom on the sidewalk corner.

While Holdsworth was speaking, officers noticed the strong smell of alcohol emanating from his breath and other signs of intoxication. Officers also noticed Holdsworth inability to maintain his balance when standing up. When the officers informed Holdsworth that he was under arrest, he began to resist even more, and they had to practically carry him to the patrol car as he would not move anymore. Once at the car, Holdsworth refused to get inside and demanded his rights were read to him through his phone camera. Officers had to assist Holdsworth into the backseat to place him inside the patrol car because he refused to get in on his own. Holdsworth was then transported and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.

Aleshia Larkin charged with shoplifting $300 of merchandise from Dollar General

24-year-old Aleshia Larkin stole merchandise from the West Trinity Lane Dollar General on June 19th. Larkin entered the establishment, grabbed a cart, collected around $300 worth of items, and exited without paying. An employee witnessed this and provided detectives with her 2016 Nissan Altima’s tag. Detectives identified Larkin by her left arm tattoo and obtained a warrant for her arrest on June 21st. Larkin was taken into custody for theft on June 27th.

DUI: Texas Tourist William Shatto crashes orange Hyundai Kona into rock wall

26-year-old William Shatto was involved in a single-vehicle accident in his orange Hyundai Kona accident at Exit 213A on I-40 East early June 28th. Upon arrival, officers noticed the Hyundai was horizontally sitting on the left shoulder and had struck the rock wall with its front end. Also, the front driver’s wheel was bent, and the rear driver’s wheel was off the vehicle. Then, they located Shatto, who told them that he was driving on the way to his hotel from dinner. Shatto stated that since he was from Texas, he was unfamiliar with the area and crashed because he reached the exit quicker than expected. Shatto admitted to having two beers, one of which was an IPA. While officers interacted with Shatto, they reported that he reeked of alcohol and was showing signs of impairment. After prompting Shatto with sobriety tests, to which he consented, he performed poorly on them. After being informed of implied consent, he agreed to provide a breath sample, resulting in 0.085 BAC%. Shatto was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Erika Seaholtz slaps husband outside of Nudie’s Honky Tonk

41-year-old Erika Seaholtz was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, Joshua Seaholtz, at Nudie’s Honky Tonk on June 26th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Erika, Joshua, and the security at the bar. When Erika and Joshua were kicked out of the Friends in Low Places bar, Erika cried in the bathroom, saying she did not want to go outside with her husband. Once outside, security walked out to make sure there would be no physical altercation. Security then observed Joshua run towards Erika, scream at her, and grab her wrist. Once Erika pulled away, she proceeded to slap him in the face, and security from Nudies Honky Tonk bar separated the two until officers arrived. While Erika gave her side of the story to officers, they reported that it was very choppy and unlike Joshua’s smooth version of events. Erika was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: Antonio Carmelo caught with several open beers in car

20-year-old Antonio Carmelo was observed being “suspicious” at the School Lane and Weaver Drive intersection at 1:50 a.m. on June 27th. Responding officers arrived and observed that Carmelo’s vehicle was running, so they approached it. While looking into the vehicle, officers saw that he had open alcoholic beverage containers in his center console and floorboard. Officers had him exit his car, during which they reported that he reeked of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. Carmelo admitted to having three of the four beers that they found in his car before and while driving. They prompted him with sobriety tests, to which he consented and performed poorly. He was detained for the occurrence and agreed to provide a blood sample after being informed of implied consent. Carmelo was transported to Nashville General Hospital and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Aiden Rush punches fiancée in the ribs during altercation over dog

18-year-old Aiden Rush had a domestic altercation with his fiancée, Kennady Watwood, at their Parliament Place apartment on Thursday afternoon. When officers arrived, they spoke with Watwood, who stated Rush had gotten upset because she wanted to bring her dog home. He got in her face after yelling at Rush because he said the dog would not stay with them. Watwood stated that she pushed him away, to which he responded by standing up and pushing her into their bedroom wall, leaving a crack. Watwood added that she then went into the kitchen, where Rush grabbed her face and left visible scratches in the process. She said she tried running back to their room to get away, but he pushed her against the wall again and punched her in the ribs. Rush corroborated Watwood’s statements and was detained for the occurrence. Rush was then taken into custody for domestic assault.
