Our September/October issue is here! This issue is our Outlander special so get ready to be swept up in a Scottish romance with us…

Since premiering a decade ago in 2014, fantasy drama series Outlander has become a global sensation. Fans have invested many, many hours following the love story between American Claire and Highlander Jamie, and as the second part of the penultimate series screens, we decided the time had come to present you with the ultimate tour of the show’s Scottish locations.

In Outlander discovered, we’ve mapped out the perfect week-long tour through Scotland, that will allow you to visit both the real-life places that featured on screen and a few others that provided inspiration to author Diana Gabaldon, who wrote the books on which the show is based.

In terms of historic tales, Kirsten Henton is back doing what she does best – delving into the pasts of some of Scotland’s historic royals, turning her attention this time to Princess Elizabeth Stuart, or as we like to call her, The could-have-been queen.

Meanwhile, for some more Scottish travel inspiration, we pay a visit to Scotland’s oldest working distillery, The Glenturret, for a two michelin-starred dining experience and to meet their talented young chef, Mark Donald, and we guide you through the best railway journeys in Scotland, including a trip on The Royal Scotsman with another michelin-starred Scottish chef, Tom Kitchin.
