    Om Sri Sai Ram Sai Spiritual Education Lesson 2 6/10/13

    Theme: Love Group: Lotus Opening: 3 times chanting Om (Please ask the children to take deep a breath before chanting Om) Gayathri Prayer (Please make the kids follow after the teacher) Quote: Love all beings; that is enough. - Sathya Sai Baba (After chanting the Gayathri start the class with the main theme for that week. Reinforce the idea to love everybody and be kind to others) Balavikas time game: Make the children sit in a circle. Say words that are related to the theme word Love, like for ex; Kind, Caring, Nice, Gentle, etc. When these words are said the children have to stand up. Alternatively say words opposite to the theme word Love, like for ex; unkind, mad, not caring, rough, anger etc. When these words are said they have to sit down. The same game can be played as Simon Says, but can say Swami Says instead of Simon Says. Spiritual Principle: God Is Love (Remind the kids about the theme. Tell the kids that Swami loves all and he wants us to do the same)

    Affirmation: I love all beings Bhajan : 1. Revise the bhajan from previous week. 2. Jaya Guru Omkara Jaya Jaya sadguru Omkara Bhrama Vishnu Sada Shiva Hara Hara Hara Mahadeva Activity: (Instead of coloring books the following activity can be done in the garage) Flowers for their friends in the SSE class: Items Needed: 1. Markers 2. Coffee Filter papers 3. Pipe cleaners Method: Ask the children to color a few coffee filter papers with the markers. Stick the pipe cleaners into the papers and make it look like a flower. Ask each child to make it for a friend in the class. Make sure that each child has a flower from one friend. Books to be read: Hands are not for hitting- By Martine Agassi Life Application: Ask the children to say I Love you every day during the week to Mom& Dad. And also tell the parents to remind the child to say I love Swami looking at Swamis picture.

    (Please do remember that the terms Quote, Affirmation, Spiritual Principle and Life application are only for the reference of the teachers. The children need not know the words. The teachers have to incorporate the ideas while taking the class. For Ex the Life application can be shown in the class while reinforcing the Affirmation, by making children turn around and look at Swamis picture in the altar and make all of them say I Love Swami.)
