QUEBEC TENPIN FEDERATION THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR OPINION 2 SURVEYS RESULTS 3 YOUR COMMENTS It would be easier(money and time) for the parents if the tournament was in 1 week-end.
Its more fair for the bowlers if we take the total of pins to determine team Quebec.
More games would give the opportunity to all bowlers to show us how they really want to win.
4 NEW FORMAT Now in one week-end.
Qualification (AA) on Saturday. 8 games of qualification. Top 8 advance to Sundays final (AAA).
Final (AAA) on Sunday. 8 games of match-plays Round Robin including a positions round. You keep your qualifications total of pins for the final. Leaders after 16 games including bonus pins will be the winners. 5 WHY IN ONE WEEK-END? This year, weve decided to group the AA and the AAA finals together.
Good points : Save time for everyone. Easier for bowlers to get off from work the whole week- end than 2 Saturdays in the same month.
Bad points : Hotel for some bowlers. Final on Sunday. 6 QUALIFICATION (AA) ON SATURDAY The qualification will be a block of 8 games on one of the Kegel Challenge patterns selected by the committee.
Top 8 from each category will advance to Sundays final on a WTBA pattern.
Please note that you keep your pins from game one to game 16. So your qualification will be added to your final and bonus.
7 FINAL (AAA) ON SUNDAY The final will be an 8 games block of match-plays "Round Robin including a positions round on a WTBA pattern. The pattern will be selected by the committee before the tournament.
Leaders after the 16 games and bonus for the match-plays will be the winners.
8 ROUND ROBIN This is probably the most popular way to select a team. You can see it at the Canadian Team Trials in may every year.
This format involves your total of pins and match- plays. If a bowler wins his match, he gets 20 bonus pins to his game. If he ties, he gets 10. For the final, a bowler will play a match-play against each other bowler in his category. The draw will be determined by the committee. The last game will be the positions round. 9 POSITIONS ROUND This game is still a match-play with bonus pins for a win or a tie. But the opponent is determined by the standing after 15 games : 1st Vs 2nd, 3rd Vs 4th, 5th Vs 6th et 7th Vs 8th
Same rules as the match-plays, the winner will get 20 bonus pins for a win. 10 pins will go to both opponents if theres a tie.
The standing after these 16 games will determine the winners in each division. 10 WHY THIS FORMAT Good points : Allow bowlers to come back after a bad start. Match-plays will add more pressure and players will have to manage that. Getting closer to the biggest events by adding more games over 2 days of competition.
Bad points : Bowlers will get tired and maybe injured faster.
