Course Description: This year, students will aim to understand the basic
concepts of science and technology by developing the skills, strategies, and
habits required for scientific inquiry and technological problem solving.
Through this development and understanding, students will begin to relate
science and technology to the society and the environment.

Introduction: This course aims to build a foundation from which students


can understand the natural and human-designed world. This involves
developing a sense of scientific and technological literacy, such as
understanding what scientists, engineers, and technologists do as a
community, how scientific knowledge is generated and validated, as well as
the benefits, costs, and risks involved with gaining and using this knowledge.
Furthermore, this course aims to teach how science interacts with
technology, society, and the environment. This will be done by presenting
major topics in units, complete with class work, assignments, a unit project
as well as a unit test for each one respectively.
