Native Americans
Know
Students will know which
description describes each
tribe.
Do
Students will make a
foldable correctly.
Descriptions will be
matched to appropriate
tribes.
Students will use their
foldable to help them with
other assignments and study
for their test.
D. ASSESSING LEARNING
Since we are doing this activity as an entire class, students should be able to follow along
and make their foldable correctly. I will sporadically go around the room to make sure
that everyone is following along as I teach. If a student needs help I will assist them.
Throughout the rest of the week I will encourage students to use this to help them with
other work a resource. This will also help them study at home in a more creative way
than just reading their notes.

I. WHAT COULD GO WRONG WITH THIS LESSON AND WHAT WILL YOU
DO ABOUT IT?
Since these students have made foldables before, I do not think that they will have a very
difficult time constructing one. The biggest problem that I see happening is that students
will not know which information describes each tribe. We have been studying this
information previously, but last week was a little unorganized with Social Studies. They
took a test and also had a day off from Social Studies because of Mrs. Burns. I believe
that they will learn this material with few problems, but they did not have a great
foundation to learning this material last week. This week will be much more progressive
and consistent. I will help the students as much as I can without giving the answers away
for supportive instruction to help them learn better.
