GOLD School Sport Award

sportscotland, the national governing body for sport in Scotland,

launched the School Sport Awards last year to recognise the work done
in schools to improve PE/School Sport and create a positive ethos for
staff, pupils and the wider school community. Larbert High applied in
the first round of applications since it has been opened up nationwide.
LHS was visited by members of the Young peoples sport panel at the
end of January as part of the assessment process. Following a review panel meeting, LHS was
announced as the first school in Falkirk to achieve the GOLD School Sport Award. The award was
presented by Jamie Hepburn, Minister for Sport, Stewart Harris CEO of sportscotland and Louise
Martin, Chair of sportscotland.

Pump Track on track!

For many of you that have driven to TCSC recently, you may have noticed a
flurry of construction traffic in the old playing fields next to Larbert High. This is
the site of a hugely exciting development - the Larbert Legacy Cycle Track!
Incorporating a skills loop, pump track, cross country trail and several other
cool features, this new facility offers an exciting new teaching space for pupils
at Larbert High! It also provides future possibilities within the hub, and will be
available to the community after school and at weekends! Construction began
in January and has continued to progress well, with completion expected by
the end of March! Details about an exciting opening event will be released
soon!

Theres an app for that!

Stenhousemuir FC, one of the main partners of TCSC, has launched an app for its
highly successful Warriors in the Community programme. Incorporating all of its junior
teams and development programmes, the WitC app is an essential tool for anyone
interested in hearing club news, fixtures, results and see dates for upcoming events.
Available through the free App Team App which can be downloaded for all Apple
and Android devices, users just need to search for Warriors in the Community and
chose their access category. The App is perfect for people who need reminders about
events or would like a notification when a new piece of news comes through. You can
see a screenshot of the App to the right, and we think it looks great - sporting the
iconic Stenny maroon!
