Digital Skills 2 - Grade 6, quarter-long course


Course Description: This quarter-long course introduces students to a variety of digital media that they will continue to use in other academic subjects this year
and in future grades. Students learn how organise and arrange thoughts and ideas in order to plan for larger digital projects. They are introduced to computer
languages, scripting and structured programming using HTML, Scratch or Blockly. They manipulate digital images and audio by creating compositions in Adobe
Photoshop/Flash, iMovie and Garageband. Coursework is based on the standards set forth by the International Society for Technology in Education.

Media Production - Grade 7, quarter-long course


Course Description:
This quarter-long class focuses on introducing students to the field of media design, creation and editing, with an emphasis on video
production. Using iPads and digital video equipment, iMovie, Garageband, and the Adobe Creative Suite, students direct, star in, and edit a variety of media
products. Project work includes an iBook portfolio of class products. Reflective assessment and providing constructive feedback (of self, peer, and professional
work) are integral to growth and community-building in this course. Coursework is based on the standards set forth by the International Society for Technology in
Education.

Broadcast Media - Grade 8, semester-long course


Course Description:
This class combines visual and performing arts media through the creation of a student-produced weekly news show. Production includes
the use of iPads, digital video equipment, iMovie, Garageband, and the Adobe Creative Suite, among others. Students have the opportunity to participate in video
editing and design, reporting, script writing, camera techniques, and broadcast directing and producing. Students may work in front of or behind the camera - or
both! Reflective assessment and providing and responding to constructive feedback (of self, peer, and professional work) are integral to growth and
