Presidents Letter
"Here's Your Sign !!"
It's all about the sign, the notice, the statement, the decor. We are in the process of having signs made
so we can place them on the roads just prior to our meetings. Each board member will put out a few
signs & gather back up for the next meeting. We are hoping this will advise the community & drum up
more attendance. Word of mouth is also the best advertiser, but signs & notices help... so pass it
on! The next meeting is Tues August 4th at 7:30 pm. (Always on the FIRST TUES, quarterly.)
To Market, to market... ! Come on out to the Tues night Market across from Safeway. It starts June 2nd
from 4 - 8 pm. This is a great way to get fresh veggies or a full dinner. You can buy crafts, listen to
music, meet your neighbors & even sit & have your food on a picnic table there. Most folks walk up there,
so grab your neighbor & come support our local events. Thank you to our friends at Baltimore Mainstreet
for helping this be such an enjoyable event. Runs until September 29th.
Enjoy the summer & see you soon,
Helene Quinn
WIA President

NECOP Northeast Citizens on Patrol

In Northeast Baltimore we have a district wide Citizens on Patrol program called NECOP. The
reasoning behind the COP program is that regular neighborhood patrols can make criminals feel
uncomfortable and drive them out of our neighborhood. Participants meet at the Northeast
Police station at 1900 Argonne Drive near Morgan State and get a walkie talkie to keep them in
contact with the Police and then proceed to patrol their neighborhoods in their cars. Patrols
normally go out each Thursday and Friday from about 7:30 - 10:30. For anyone interested in the
Citizens on Patrol program, please contact Rob at [email protected].
