Once upon a time
A war called World War II occurred. During the war, a man named Adolf Hitler was responsible
for the death of millions of Jewish people. After the war ended, The US and many other countries
felt bad for the Jewish people and wanted to give them a land of their own. It was decided that
the Jewish people would receive parts of Palestine. Palestine was split up based on water so that
the Jewish people and the Arabs could have equal land. The Arabian people were not to happy
with the decision and became angry and started a war for Palestine. The US sided with the
Jewish people and sent in troops and supplies. The US helped the Jews win the war and create
Israel. The Arabs are furious and seek revenge.

Until one day

A terrorist group called Al Qaeda was formed and it was lead by Osama Bin Laden. Al Qaeda
devised an evil plan to get revenge against the US.

And because of that

Al Qaeda put their plan into action. They flew airplanes into the World Trade Center and the
Pentagon; but, they failed to hit the White House. Two planes were crashed into the World Trade
Center, one hit the Pentagon, and the last one crashed in a field on its way to the White House.
Many people were killed, not only from the initial crashes but along with first responders, and
our country was in shock and complete terror.

And because of that

All suspected terrorists were taken to a prison on Guantanamo Bay because they were Muslim.
Guantanamo Bay was a horrible place, people tried to commit suicide because they conditions
were so bad and some succeeded in doing so. Not a day would go by without an act of violence.

And because of that

The Patriot Act was passed allowing the government to view our emails, text messages etc.
Many people were against this Act because it invaded our privacy, but many more agreed since
our country was just heavily attacked. The security of our country was also largely increased by
making changes to airport security and security around cities and important locations. Then,
President Bush was given the power to do what he thought was necessary to combat terror. Bush
decided to send in troops to fight Al Qaeda.

Until finally
The war on terror officially began and our country significantly recovered from 9/11. A memorial
was built for all the people who lost their lives as a result of 9/11 whether it was a first responder
or an employee in the World Trade Center.

And ever since then

Terror has still been a major problem in the world to this day and the US is still recovering from
this tragic event. People continue to mourn over the loss of their loved ones who died during
9/11 and our countrys morale has been raised because of these events. 9/11 shocks the world to
this day.
