ORANGE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT

CASE NUMBER 08-074777

EID 002684

On December 'l O", 2009 I received a voicemail from Maya Derkovic, an inmate at the Lowell Correctional Institute in Ocala, Florida. Maya Derkovic claimed to have spent time with Casey Anthony at the Orange County Jail prior to her transfer to the Lowell Correctional Institute. Maya Derkovic said she had spoken with Casey Anthony and had information on this case.

On December 11th, 2009 Sergeant Mike Mason and I responded to the Lowell Correctional Institute to interview Maya Derkovic. With the assistance of prison officials, we were able to conduct a sworn and recorded interview with Maya Derkovic. The following is a synopsis of what she said.

Maya Derkovic was at the Orange County Jail pending trial for her case when Casey Anthony was first arrested and brought into her dorm (L-Dorm). Maya Derkovic recognized Casey Anthony from seeing her on television. Over the course of the next few weeks, Maya Derkovic established a friendship with Casey Anthony and spoke with her several times through the cell's ventilation system. During these conversations, Maya Derkovic asked Casey Anthony about the circumstances of Caylee Anthony's disappearance. Casey Anthony told her three different versions of what happened. One version was the same she told me on July 16th, 2008. Another version claimed the babysitter was asked to come to Casey's house to watch Caylee Anthony while Casey Anthony went out. When Casey Anthony returned, both Caylee and the babysitter were gone. A third version claimed the babysitter was asked to come to the house and was watching Caylee while Casey Anthony went to the store. When Casey Anthony returned, Caylee and the babysitter were gone and there was a note saying Caylee was abducted. Casey Anthony never told Maya Derkovic anything else about this alleged note. Maya Derkovic never confronted Casey Anthony about the different stories stating "'Cause after a while you just let people lie to you and you just okqy yeah, sure. It's ... 4.

you can't convince somebocjy. A lot if times especiallY being locked up with a person lies to you a lot if time thry believe their lies. So, it's like whatever thry tell you, you can't argue with them. ,,1

When Casey Anthony returned from visits with her family, she would make derogatory comments about her mother Cindy Anthony. According to Maya Derkovic, "Her parents would come and that's when she would make comments about her mom. And I asked her, well how was your visit, and how'd it go? And she'll make comment like, well it's alright, at least the bitch knows how I feel now. [emphasis added} I be like, what are _you talking about? She like my mom. I'm like, well what's wrong with your mom? And she'll: she'll tell me like, at first she would brush it riff like, well it's just a mother and daughter thing. Which everybocjy related to, but then she'll talk about well how her mom never reallY cared about her that much. All she cared about was Cqylee and she knows what it feels like to miss somebocjy now and to feel pain and stuff like that. And just sqy that her mom basicallY

was neoer there for her. ,£ Casey Anthony also told her that she felt her mother loved Caylee Anthony more than she loved her.

When Maya Derkovic tried to convince Casey Anthony to tell the police the truth, Casey Anthony told her she wasn't worried about doing the time but was worried about what people would think of her. Casey Anthony didn't want her brother or her father to hate her.

I asked Maya Derkovic if Casey Anthony had ever shown frustration over her belief that law enforcement was not doing anything to help find Caylee Anthony. Below is the transcript of this particular conversation:

Q Did she ever tell you that she was frustrated because we weren't actuallY looking

for the nant!)l? Did she ever sqy, hry you know this is where she is? This is who she is?

A No.

Q She ever sqy that you know she wanted to help? What she would do to find her?

A No. So, her seeing bersel] on the news, hearing people talk about it; it was all fun

and games to her. It was funf!J to her, it was exciting. When she found out that she was going national like it was national news now. To her it was like, exciting. It was..

Q How ...

A .. funf!J to her.

Q Well what made it exciting, what made it funf!J? How do you ...

A Because it's ... her ... like her knowing that people know about her and know her

name. It's like she flit like, okqy I'm famous in a wqy. i3

A ... So, she asked me before, do .. do I think that mqybe she can write a book about what happened. Mqybe you know she could, (Inaudible) ... be a book written about her or ...

Q And she's sqying this ...

A ... a movze.

Q She's sqying this to you before the bo4J euen found?

A Before .. this was ..

Q About writing a book and making a movie?

A ... zvqy before the bo4J uias found. It was when .. it was when basicallY like the

first, I think it was the first two or three months. That it was real like chaotic about her.

Q Uh-huh. (Affirmativef

Maya Derkovic said Casey Anthony never mentioned Caylee Anthony except when she made comments regretting having had a child. Maya Derkovic said the following:

"Q 5 he ever talk about Caylee?

A No. I used to try to ask her like well.. I use .. I asked her before, do you have any

picteres if her? And she was like, no. And I used to be lzke make little comments like about seeing her on the TV She was beautiful. I think she looked just like you, like you know just .. talk to her and kind try and console her in a wqy. But she never reallY talked about it: 5 he never said thank you for telling her baby was beautiful. 5 he just. .. never mentioned her. It was to her the onlY time she mentioned her was sqying that mqybe she should've waited to have a baby. Because she was young and she wanted to lil)e life. Mqybe she should've never had a baby before .. a baby was stopping her from living life and parrying. And a lot times it interfered JJ!ith having a bqyfriend, having a child. And that's the onlY time she ever mentioned her baby.

Q 5he never mentioned she was worried about it; hoped she was okqy? Anything

like that?

A No. No. To her ... anytime like an inmate, other inmates is when she comes out to go into the interview room with her lawyer. While thry shackling her up, whzie the officers are putting the handcuffi on her and sttiff. People would yell through door, "Where's Caylee. 'Where's Cqylee?" "Casry where's Cayiee? And she'll laugh and smile lzke it was nothing. 5 he'll just start giggling and laughing. And ah, that right there shows that you reallY don't care. I mean thry were trying to be nasry but her it was funny. ,,,

When asked about if Casey Anthony ever mentioned about how she would take care of Caylee Anthony, Maya Derkovic said Casey Anthony admitted to "knocking [CqyleeJ out" often so she could go out. Maya Derkovic believes Casey did this at her residence but she's not sure. Maya Derkovic stated in part:

A No, well what she said was that sometimes when she wanted to go went out and not let noborfy baby sit her or anything. Not leave her with her parents. That she'll go out after Cqylee went to sleep. That she'll sometimes knock her out and make her go to sleep until she got back. And when she gets back home she was asleep. 'Cause to her I gum it was, it's easier that wqy because her mom was alrearfy sqying that she was an unfit mom. And that she was alrearfy you know talking about taking Coylee from her. 50, to her just doing it that wqy secretivelY nobody reallY enows. 50, she ... that's the onlY time that she ever talked about how she handled her. But she never told me nothing else about it. A lot if time the onlY stuff that I ever asked her was like, _you know well what happened and .. about like what happened that night. I never reallY went into depth with her 'cause a lot if times I didn't want to know. 5 ttiff like that you don't want to know. You don't want to know the truth about people. And a lot stuff like, I ask her like how was her visit. That's when she'll make comments. Most if the time we talked about stupid stuff, we gorifed around. It was just throughout the whole couple if months that I was there with her. That's when she made little comments. When I might ask her about something she'll

Q When she said she would knock her out and then leave and then come home.

figured it was her house or her parents' house. I don't know where she lived. I don't know who she lived with but ..

Q Well, what about what she used to knock Cqylee out. Did she ever mention that

Casey Anthony never mentioned what she used to put Caylee Anthony to sleep.

Maya Derkovic mentioned another inmate named Robyn Adams also talked with Casey Anthony in the same fashion Maya did. Maya Derkovic does not know if Robyn Adams ever discussed any of the above issues with Casey Anthony or if she overheard any of the above conversations. Maya Derkovic said she reached out to us with this information because it was the right thing to do and she asked for nothing in return.

Maya Derkovic said she had discussed being in the same dorm with Casey Anthony with Detective Brian Cross, who handled her case.'. He never told her to ask anything of Casey Anthony but said it would be a good thing if Casey Anthony decided to talk to law enforcement. Maya Derkovic never shared any of this information with Detective Cross.

On December 23td, 2009 Sergeant Mike Mason and I met with Corporal Juan Santiago of the Orange County Corrections Division. We were taken to the female dorm where we were able to view a control panel which showed the locations of all cells in LDorm. I also asked if it were possible for inmates to communicate via the vent systems to which Corporal Juan Santiago replied yes. We were taken to the area of K-Dorm, which is almost a mirror image of L-Dorm, to see how the cells were situated. We did not enter the dorm. Corporal Juan Santiago was given the name Robyn Adams and said he would research the name and see if she was incarcerated at the same time as Maya Derkovic and Casey Anthony.

Upon return to my office, I compared the cell assignments for Maya Derkovic and

Casey Anthony for the period of their incarceration at the Orange County Jail. The cell assignments corroborate Maya's account of where she was housed in relation to Casey Anthony.

On January 6th, 2010 Corporal Juan Santiago of the Orange County Jail informed me that a Robyn Adams had been incarcerated in the same cell block as Casey Anthony and Maya Derkovic for a period of time. He provided me with her lodging history while at the Orange County Jail.

On January 27t\ 2010 Corporal Edwards and I met with Robyn Adams at the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee, Florida. Robyn Adams is currently incarcerated at this facility for an unrelated crime. Robyn Adams agreed to speak with us at this time, but refused to provide a sworn recorded statement unless she had an attorney present. Robyn Adams was concerned at something that occurred while at the Orange County Jail while incarcerated there and she wanted to ensure she would not be charged with any other crime(s).

Robyn Adams was incarcerated at the Orange County Jail from July 22nd, 2008 to July 7t\ 2009. During this time, she was housed in the same dorm (Lima Dorm) as Casey Anthony. She established a friendship with Casey Anthony and both often communicated verbally and via letters. Although Robyn Adams and Casey Anthony agreed to flush each others letters after reading them, Robyn Adams kept these letters and mailed them to a friend of hers later identified as Tracey N ealley.

Casey Anthony told Robyn Adams she had been sexually abused by both her brother Lee Anthony and her father George Anthony. Casey Anthony said Lee Anthony had sexual intercourse with her until she was fifteen. She claims she was molested by George Anthony when she was younger, but Casey Anthony did not elaborate further. Robyn Adams believes Casey Anthony mentioned this in one of the letters she kept and mailed to Tracey Nealley.

Casey Anthony confided to Robyn Adams that there was no "Zenaida". Robyn Adams believed this may have been written in one of the letters she kept and mailed to Tracey Nealley.

Robyn Adams talked with Casey Anthony on a variety of topics. Casey Anthony told her Caylee Anthony had trouble sleeping and she had to use chloroform to put her to sleep. Casey Anthony implied her mother Cindy Anthony may have brought the chloroform home when she worked at a local clinic.

Robyn Adams spoke with Casey Anthony the day Caylee Anthony's remains were found (December 11 "', 2008). After a chaplain informed Casey Anthony of the recovery, Casey Anthony told Robyn Adams law enforcement had found the body of a small child with a baby blanket inside a black garbage bag. As a note, the information regarding the baby blanket and black garbage bag was not made known to the jail chaplain so Casey Anthony

had knowledge of items only the suspect, certain law enforcement personnel and the certain medical examiner's personnel knew.

Robyn Adams told us that the letters written by Casey Anthony and mailed to her friend were now in the possession of her father Thomas McDonnell. She provided his name and phone number so we could contact him to obtain these letters.

At approximately 1740 hours, I met with Thomas McDonnell at his residence.

Thomas McDonnell voluntarily provided me with all the original letters and envelopes in his possession regarding Casey Anthony. He also provided me with photocopies of some of these letters. Thomas McDonnell said the letters were originally mailed to Tracey Nealley then turned over to attorney Andrea Armas in an effort to see if they could help Robyn Adams in her criminal case. Originally photocopies of the letters were provided but Andrea Armas said she needed to see the originals in order to do a handwriting comparison and confirm the letters were indeed written by Casey Anthony. Thomas McDonnell received the letters and photocopies once Andrea Armas was done with them and he has retained them since. To his knowledge, these are all the letters written by Casey Anthony that were sent by Robyn Adams. Thomas McDonnell provided me with a sworn recorded statement about the letters.

On January 28t\ 2010 Sergeant John Allen, Federal Bureau of Investigation Intelligence Analyst Karen Cowan and I reviewed the letters received from Thomas McDonnell. The letters written by Casey Anthony cover many topics, including alleged sexual abuse by Lee Anthony and possible abuse by her father George Anthony. One letter mentions Zenaida Gonzalez and how she took Caylee Anthony but under different circumstances. I made copies of all letters and envelopes recovered from Thomas McDonnell.

On January 29th, 2010 I turned over all original letters and envelopes to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Intelligence Analyst Karen Cowan for processing. The photocopies obtained from Thomas McDonnell were compared to the originals and no copies existed to which originals could not be found. These photocopies were submitted into evidence.

On February 15\ 2010 I conducted a sworn recorded interview with Tracey Nealley.

Tracey Nealley confirmed she began receiving Casey Anthony's letters via Robyn Adams in or around October of 2008. Robyn Adams instructed her to keep the letters safe. A few weeks after Robyn Adams' transfer to the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee, Thomas McDonnell requested she made photocopies of the letters and deliver them to attorney Andrea Armas. Several days later, she met with Andrea Armas and turned over all the original letters and envelopes.

On February 12, 2010 Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agent Christopher Woehr, Special Agent Charles Broadway responded to the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee in an effort to speak with Robyn Adams. Upon request from assistant state

attorney Linda Drane-Burdick Agent Woehr and Agent Broadway would conduct the sworn recorded interview of Robyn Adams.

At approximately 1040 hours, we met with Robyn Adams and I introduced her to Agent Woehr and Agent Broadway. Agent Woehr and Agent Broadway were able to obtain a sworn recorded statement from Robyn Adams regarding her conversations with Casey Anthony. I was not present for this interview but was given a copy of the interview once it was complete. 8

On February 17th, 2010 Sergeant Allen and Corporal Edwards conducted interviews with Linda Tinelli, Krystal Holloway, and Cecelia Benhaida. Refer to their supplemental reports for details of these interviews.

On February is=, 2010 Sergeant Allen told me that Krystal Holloway and her sister Cecelia Benhaida were coming to the Orange County Sheriffs Office Central Operations Center for additional interviews regarding this case.

At approximately 1050 hours, Corporal Eric Edwards conducted a sworn recorded interview with Cecelia Benhaida (aka "Sky"). Sergeant Allen and I were present for this interview. Cecelia Benhaida was questioned about her knowledge of this case and her sister's involvement with the Anthony family. During this interview, we learned that Cecelia Benhaida was incarcerated9 at the Orange County Jail for several months during which she had contact with Casey Anthony. As a jail trustee, Cecelia Benhaida assisted in passing notes to and from Casey Anthony. The notes were to and from three other unidentified inmates. I showed her a photograph of Robyn Adams and Maya Derkovic in an effort to see if they were two of the three other inmates but Cecelia Benhaida could not positively identify them. She never read the notes with the exception of one which was a thank you note addressed to her from Casey Anthony. She did not keep this note. Cecelia Benhaida believed she was incarcerated from August 2008 to January 200910. She stated that the passing of notes was not orchestrated by or requested on behalf of any corrections officers.

After having been released from jail, Cecelia Benhaida learned her sister Krystal Holloway established a friendship with George Anthony. She also learned that her sister had given George Anthony several thousand dollars however her sister was not clear on what the money was to be used for. She met with George and Cindy Anthony on a few occasions but they never spoke about this case with her. Even after learning she had been in jail with Casey Anthony, neither George or Cindy Anthony asked anything about how their daughter was doing in jail.

8 Refer to Florida Department of Law Enforcement case number OR-73-1749 for the report concerning Robyn Adams.

9 Cecelia Benhaida was incarcerated under the name Cecelia Holloway.

10 According to jail records, Cecelia Benhaida was incarcerated from August 21 to December 5, 2008. She was not in jail in January of2009.

Cecelia Benhaida said her sister recently mentioned several conversations she had with George Anthony regarding this case. Krystal Holloway mentioned how George Anthony told her how the death of Caylee Anthony was an accident and somebody" ... flew off the handle ... ='. Krystal Holloway also told her about an incident in which George Anthony grabbed Casey Anthony or Cindy Anthony by the throat.

At 1212 hours, I conducted a sworn recorded interview of Krystal Holloway.

Sergeant Allen and Corporal Edwards were present for this interview. Krystal Holloway told us she had established a friendship, then a relationship with George Anthony beginning July, 2008 to October of 2009. During this relationship, George Anthony discussed aspects of this case and made certain statements indicating how Caylee Anthony died.

Krystal Holloway began volunteering at the Kid Finders tent for Caylee Anthony search in July of 2008 where she met George Anthony. Krystal Holloway introduced herself as "River", a nickname she has used for approximately twelve (12) years. They exchanged telephone numbers over the next few months, and spent time together both at the Kid Finders tent and at later her residence. There were several occasions where George Anthony would come to her residence when she was alone and they would spend time together. During one of the visits to her house, George Anthony became emotional and talked about how Caylee Anthony'S death was an accident that "snowballed" out of control. Regarding this conversation, Krystal Holloway said:

KH But um, I was sitting on the floor, but I was like, like up against the couch like next to his legs we were just talking and um, and he told me that he respected me for never .. And I said, well I'm not one to judge I mean I've done my stuff. And I said, but you know I just can't imagine you and Cindy raising somebody that would do something like that. And then I kind of like turned away 'cause my eyes were filling up. And I was getting choked up and then when I looked at him he was crying. And he said it was an accident .. that snowballed out of control.

She believes that George Anthony was telling her the death was an accident and when Casey Anthony tried to cover it up, (( ... it just realjy got realjy big." Krystal Holloway believes this conversation may have taken place just before her sister was released from the Orange County Jail in December of 2008.

Krystal Holloway believes that on this same day, George Anthony mentioned to her that Juliet Lewis, a person Casey Anthony claimed was the roommate of Zenaida Gonzalez, was made up and not a person Casey Anthony knows. George Anthony allegedly told Krystal Holloway she liked the actress by that name and that is why she chose it.13

Krystal Holloway also described an incident George Anthony told her about having grabbed Casey Anthony by the neck. According to Krystal Holloway, (( [George Anthony] was mad, he was pissed he wanted her ... he wanted to know what she, what she did with the baby ... And she wouldn't talk she would just sit there. And he couldn't take it anymore. And he just snapped, he grabbed her and threw her up against the wall and Cindy had to run and jump and get him off. ,,]4 When asked how he grabbed Casey, Krystal Holloway replied, "Around the throat he grabbed her and choked her like this and threw her up against the wall. And he was like, I want you out of my fuck ... get the, get the fuck out of my house! ,,]5She believes this incident occurred on or about August 29,2008 which isthe night Casey Anthony was arrested at her house for fraudulent check charges.

Over the course of their friendship, Krystal Holloway said she gave George approximately four (4) thousand dollars in cash. She claims she gave him the money because he would tell her he did not know if he was going to lose his house and he had no money to eat. 16 She thought Cindy Anthony knew of the donations until she met with her one day and she asked Krystal Holloway if she had been giving George Anthony money. At one point in or around January of 2009, George Anthony claimed he was going to lose his house and asked Krystal Holloway for twenty (20) thousand dollars. She did not comply with his request.

Krystal Holloway presented us with a letter addressed to her home for "River Rios". The letter was written by George Anthony and postmarked January 3rd, 2009. In this letter, George Anthony said he had left three messages for her and that he and Cindy were concerned about her. I obtained the original letter and envelope and completed a property receipt for the items.

Krystal Holloway said a security guard who works the front gate at her subdivision had witnessed George Anthony visit her several times in 2008/2009. This guard, identified as Jody Lee, could also confirm that Krystal Holloway asked that George Anthony no longer be allowed entry to the subdivision to visit her.

During our interview with Krystal Holloway, she mentioned she knew a deputy sheriff employed by our agency. She said she never brought up anything about the Anthony case or her relationship with George Anthony to this deputy. She identified the deputy as Deputy Sheriff Anthony Whitmore.

During our interview, Krystal Holloway allowed us to download her cell phone that contained dated photographs of her and George Anthony. The phone also had several telephone numbers for George Anthony.

At 1534 hours, I conducted a sworn recorded interview of Deputy Whitmore.

Sergeant Allen and Corporal Edwards were present for this interview. Deputy Whitmore has known Krystal Holloway for approximately eight years. In short, she never mentioned this case or her relationship with George Anthony to him. The first time he learned she had something to do with this case was when we told him during this interview. Aside from this interview, Deputy Whitmore has had no personal or professional involvement with this case.

On February 19th, 2010 Sergeant Allen and I conducted a sworn recorded interview with Jody Lee, a Wackenhut employee assigned to the front gate guard shack of the Grand Ventura Country Club. She confirmed that George Anthony had been to the Grand Ventura Country Club as a guest of Krystal Holloway several times in 2009. He was considered a frequent guest of Krystal Holloway. After seeing him visit for about two to three months, Krystal Holloway told the front gate guards she no longer wanted George Anthony to pass the gate to visit her. Jody Lee believes the first two times George Anthony visited she would have noted his name and vehicle information on a visitor's log.

Also on this date, Sergeant Allen and I met with Krystal Holloway at her residence where she turned over two more notes from George Anthony to her and a digital camera which may have more photographs of her with George Anthony. These items were seized and documented on a property form. The camera was later turned over to Computer Forensics Examiner Sandra Cawn to be examined.

On January 18, 2007, I conducted a homicide investigation under case number 2007-006265. The victim's body was found at the retention pond located at the east end of Alachua Street in Orange County. The deceased female was identified as Harriet Curtis.

On October 12, 2007, I obtained First Degree Murder warrants for Amiri Lundy, Dominique Tolbert, and Maya Derkovic in connection with Harriet Curtis's death.

On February 26, 2008, Maya Derkovic pled guilty to First Degree Murder, and was sentenced to thirty years with the Department of Corrections. A condition of Maya Derkovic's plea agreement was to testify truthfully against Amiri Lundy, and Dominque Tolbert.

On September 3, 2008, I transported Maya Derkovic from the Orange County Jail to the Orlando Police Department for the purposes of undergoing a polygraph examination. Officer Barbara McClelland conducted the polygraph examination, and at the conclusion informed me Maya Derkovic passed the polygraph exam.

On September 3, 2008, at approximately 2130 hours, I transported Maya Derkovic back to the Orange County Jail. During the return trip to the jail, I engaged in casual conversation with Maya Derkovic. I asked Maya Derkovic if she saw Casey Anthony in jail. Maya Derkovic replied she had. I said, "I bet you probably could get the truth out of her." Maya Derkovic said, "I probably could." That ended our conversation regarding Casey Anthony. At no time did I ever directly or indirectly instruct Maya Derkovic to seek out Casey Anthony in an effort to gain information for law enforcement.

RE: Information Taken at Command Center in Orlando, FL

On Saturday afternoon., Nov. 8111, 2008, I was outside under the team briefing white tent I believe it to have been around 1 or 2 o' clock.

J was approached by a man appearing to be late 40's in age, wearing dark dress slacks and a sport coat I believe he thought I was Tim Miller. He told me he was working for the security firm employed by the Anthony family and that he had some information that he had gotten from talking to a young black girl who lived neat the Anthony borne.

I obtained a TES de-briefform and began gathering the information. He stressed that his job may be in jeopardy if it was known that he was providing information because his company was working for the Anthony family. He provided his name and contact number. 1 wrote this information on the form along with his statement about his job being in jeopardy. The following is the information I gathered from this individual:

He said he was approached by a 9 or 10 year old black girl who lived nearby the Anthony home. He stated that he did not know exactly where she resided. He stated he was on the street where the Anthony family lived when the girl approached him. The girl told him that she had seen Casey' s car at the entrance to the trail that led into the wooded area tv the right of the school. He stated the girl told him she saw the car there prior to the time Casey was first arrested He stated he thought we should have this information.

NOTES:

I completed and signed the de-brief form and took it to Bill Fitzgerald who was in the mini-mobile trailer. I went over the information with him. I left the form with Mr. Fitzgerald.

1 do not remember the name of the man who provided the information but have since been told it was most likely Jim Hoover.

Brett Churchill has stated the person giving the information was Jim Hoover as he bad seen him earlier in the area

At no time did the man suggest that TES needed to go search the specific area described above.

I tried to locate the de-brief form but have not been successful.

If the man provided the date and time he talked to the child, I would have written it on the form but do not remember if he provided the information.

RE: IdentifYing Pictures of Hoover

At shortly after 7PM PST tonight, January 7, 2009, r saw taped footage from a press conference held in Orlando, FL today. I saw numerous shots of Jim Hoover and immediately recognized him as being the one who came to me at the Command Center on Nov. 8th, 2008. He provided information to me that I put on a TES de-brief form. The information provided by Mr. Hoover has been described by me in a previous statement.

The only other time I have viewed a picture of this individual was taped footage which was of poor quality and I was not certain after seeing it that it was definitely the man I spoke to. I viewed that footage over a week ago. Tonight, the taped footage was clear and I was able to identify him within seconds.

I state without reservation that I am certain this is the individual I obtained information from.

25 And what happened?

Ah, they just talked and, and after I told 'em I was down there and I told 'em you showed me a photograph of tape. Um, and a picture of Caylee with tape. And they asked me why and I said I didn't know. And um, I don't know exactly what all I said. I didn't say everything.

Did you go in our direction? Or did you take that upon yourself? That was, that was nothing that law enforcement asked you to do or instructed you to do is my point.

What to go down to the Anthony's? Yes.

No, I went myself.

Okay. What was .. when you mentioned the photograph and the image of the tape. Um, what was Cindy's demeanor about that subject? How did she act? She wasn't upset or really concerned. Um, she I guess wondered why.

You say you ... you described it ...

That you requested".

... almost as a whimsical laugh like she was laughing ...

Yeah like.,.

(Inaudible) ...

... why would they do that? you know like a huh! Okay, but George didn't have anything to add? No.

No.

No.

CE Um, you had stated ... I wrote a couple of notes down when we first got here.

2 You said that ah, um, Cindy had asked you if during our line of questioning if we

3 tried to lead you in any particular way. Can ...

4 L T Correct.

5 CE ... can you tell me about that?

6 L TUm, she asked me were, were you were leading me. Or, or what you, you both

7 um, had tried to do. And you know I said, nothing they were just asking some

8 questions. I told them that I had a list. They were asking about the table, Kid

9 Finder's table. Um, and I told 'em I had a list of the people that we went down

10 there and I gave them a list of that. Um, and George had told me that he had the

11 list and he could've gave you that too. Or he could've given them that too.

12 Meaning you guys.

13 CE Did he say that he would've been as um, free to give us the information about the

14 tape that he had taken down to the tent?

15 L T No

16 CE Did he make any statements about that?

17 L T No, not a statement about it.

18 CE Okay he just said he would be willing to give us the list of people?

19 L T The list of ..

20 CE Not. ..

21 LT ... people that I had down phone numbers and the names.

22 CE So, he didn't make a similar statement about the tape like, well if they're curious

23 about the tape I will talk to them about that too?

24 LT No.

25 CE Just the phone list?

She was curious whether or not we were asking about Joy Wray? Yes. Yes.

Did she say why? No.

Okay. And um ...

I think that came up when I mentioned Padilla to you guys and we said, yeah we knew him and all that there. I think that's when Cindy asked me if you asked me about Joy Wray.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative)

Did ah, you said you'd asked about Roy Kronk.

Yes I asked Cindy if she had ever seen or talked to Roy Kronk. If ... no I asked Cindy 'cause I told her that you guys asked me if Roy Kronk was ever at the ever at the table. If I knew he was at the table. And I said no I never seen him except on TV. And I asked Cindy if she had ever met him or seen him or talked to him? I don't know if it was George or Cindy. I think it was Cindy, but I don't know, if it was George or Cindy one of 'em told me that he had a friend right down the road. Because I said to them at the time they said that to me. I said well why didn't he go there to go to the bathroom instead of going in the woods across the street from the school? That was my statement to that.

And what did they say?

I don't know.

Okay. Um, also you had mentioned that Cindy had called you back the following

day and left you a message that you still have not returned.

Correct.

And you, you were nice enough to ... I'm sorry go ahead.

She asked me to either text her or call her. I .. my phone I left my phone in my car that night so I didn't get the message till the next morning.

Can you play that message for me again please? And you're reluctantly doing so, but I appreciate it.

There's no point, I mean there's no reason that anybody would have to hide the truth. When they have .. the Anthony's maintained all along all they want I the truth to come out. You ever heard 'em say that before?

Yeah she said, when I said, I don't know how you guys stay here I'm .. I'm surprised that you guys are still here. I said, I don't know what I would do I don't know if I could stay here. 'Cause as you look around there's all Caylee's pictures and there's some of Casey and Lee and the things in the backyard you can see out the window. No Cindy usually talks.

Okay so, Cindy usually does the talking with you're talking with 'em?

Yeah before all this came out I was, I didn't spend much time with Cindy. 'Cause Cindy wasn't down at the table that much. I spent it with George and George would talk you know.

Yeah.

How did ... I'm sorry go ahead.

Did ah .. talking about the tape. I want to go back to the tape. Now you're sure that they never said to you um, if the police are interested in tape or any tape that we have. We'll be more then happy to bring whatever tape we have to them? To help them find the truth?

No.

You're certain they never said that?

No.

And you're certain they never .. that they said that they'd never seen Roy Kronk

except on television?

Cindy said that. Yes.

Okay. Did Cindy ever or was there ever any talk of, because if you recall early on there was a lot of talk about Zeniada Gonzales being the kidnapper. Did they ever say to you that um, that they or the defense team or Mr. Conway or their

private investigators had ever found any connection between a Zeniada Gonzales who is the baby sitter and Roy Kronk?

3 CE I want to ratchet this thing down with the photograph when you get done John.

4 Before ..

6 CE The um, when discussing at the house on January 12th, was it?

7 L T Yes.

8 CE When you described the photograph the image that I'd shown you.

9 LT Yes.

10 CR To the Anthony's. How descriptive were you? Did they realize what picture it

11 was? 'Cause the media coverage and all at the time didn't realize that it was ...

12 L T I just said a poster with black tape on it.

13 CE Okay.

14 L T That's all I said.

15 CE Did they, did they make that connection that it was the stuff that's on the media,

16 that it's the missing person's image of Caylee with tape stuck on it? Did they

17 make that or don't you know?

18 LT

I don't know. I just said the poster. The regular poster which was the one that

19 was out there with the fliers and poster.

20 CE Did George say anything about the tape that he had brought to the tent that yeah

21 that's the tape or no that wasn't the tape?

22 L T No he never said one way or the other.

Tim was here .. Tim Miller and EquuSearch was here at the Anthony's request. Right. And then .. I guess they started looking like in swamps and woods and all that there. But what I understand and that's when I guess the Anthony's got

upset 'cause they felt they were gonna be here looking ... I don't know like at air ports or malls or some place for Caylee. A live Caylee and ...

two months later I think three max. Then I got to know him and I would sit with

him everyday with my dog Ginger. We'd sit over there at the tent everyday and

people would come by and you know talk to him and stuff.

we would meet up, I would go to his house. But I would go into his house but I

Okay. Wouldn't talk. How long would you be in the house?

I didn't want her to feel offended. I just thought you know here you take it and

you put it and do what you what you see fit with it. Because he made it clear to

me that the money that was going in the .. the jar was not going to him. it was

Do you know what the money in the jar the one in went in the foundation? Who,

who controls the foundation?

Kid Finders Network.

Okay. Do you know what was, what was being done with any of that money or ...

No.

How much money would they collect on a typical day?

Maybe .. maybe a hundred bucks.

Okay.

It's .. maybe .. between eighty and a hundred bucks a day.

Okay. What did you think George was doing with the money that you've given

him.

I thought he was paying bills.

Okay.

Was he?

Apparently not.

That's what Cindy said?

No. He said somebody saw him at a restaurant and drinking a beer.

Who said that?

George did. And he said like laughed it off, I can't have a beer? Just my

granddaughter's missing .. but I can't .. I can't relax, I can't eat. You know like

Flower.

Uh-huh. (Affirmative) Give her flowers.

that?

Uh-huh. (Affirmative)

Okay. Why did you give her that?

The day um, it ha .. I think if I'm not mistaken it had to have been the Monday

before they went to Larry King Live.

The first time.

'Cause that was on Wednesday.

Was that the first time they were on Larry King?

I believe so. I know um, he was wearing the gray off, blue-ish gray shirt. That,

that episode. So, which ever episode that was. But.. well um, my texts I sent to

Cindy to and I asked her if she got it. So, you probably get it.

12 SA Why do you think that happened? What makes you think that that's what
13 occurred?
14 KH Because I wouldn't give Kalani any money.
15 SA Did Kaliane know you were giving George money?
16 KH Not in the beginning.
17
SA Did .. but at some point did he find out you were giving George money?
18

19
SA Hm. Where were you at when Kalani.. when he approached you or confronted
20

22 KH Down at the location the day they found .. on December 11th.

12 CE Okay. Did George text you back?
13 KH I don't remember.
14 CE Would that be in your phone or maybe deleted?
15 KH It might be deleted. I have .. but I've had that number changed twice that's' what
16 I'm saying. I know you know that number, but I had another number too that he
17
was texting me on.

KH

He .. I.. I was .. I befriended him. I was loyal to him and his family. And I helped

really pissed and he .. he threw her up against the wall and choked her.

Okay do you know why he threw her up against the wall and choked her?

KH

Because he said, I know you killed her. What did you do with her? And he
