    PLAYERCONTRACT

    Mission
    ItisthemissionofKnockOutVolleyballClubtoprovideapositive,competitiveyouth
    volleyballexperienceforplayer,parentandcoach.Weemphasizelongtermplayerdevelopment
    ofphysical,emotionalandsocialskills.Whilewinningisanabsolutepriorityinclubvolleyball,
    winningwillnotbeplacedabovegoodsportsmanship(definedasrespectingrulesand
    proceduressetforthbelow,teammates,coaches,officials,opponentsandonesself).Itisour
    goaltocreateanenvironmentthatwillbenefittheindividualaswellastheteam.Youhave
    joinedanelite,competitivevolleyballprogram.Competitiveteamathletics,byitsverynature,
    createssituationswhereeveryonemaynotbehappyallthetime.Teamsuccessisintimately
    linkedtoindividualsuccess.Eachplayerwillfillanecessaryroleontheteam.Althoughsome
    rolesarelargerthanothers,noneareinsignificanttotheoverallsuccessoftheteam.Coaches
    willdiscussanddefineeachrolewiththeindividual.Playersareencouragedtousepracticesas
    anavenueforfurtherdevelopingtheirskillsandexpandingtheirroleontheteam.Playersand
    parentsmustunderstandthattheonlydesireofthecoachistoassisttheteaminreachingitsfull
    potentialWecanonlyachievethisbyencouraging,acknowledgingandsupportingeachothers
    effortsinpractice,scrimmagesandtournaments.ExpectationsThisCodeofConductisawritten
    contractbetweenparents,playersandcoachestoabidebythepoliciesandproceduresofKnock
    OutVolleyballClub.Weexpectallpartiestomaintainapositiveattitudeandupholdtheideals
    offairplayandgoodsportsmanlikebehavior.Thiscontractismorethanjustpaper,itisour
    policiesandproceduresandadherencetothesepoliciesandproceduresisofprimaryimportance.
    ToparticipateinK.O.,allplayers,theirparentsandourCoachingDirectorarerequiredtoagree
    toandsignthisCodeofConduct.ZeroTolerancePolicy:K.O.hasadoptedaZeroTolerance
    PolicytowardsviolationsofcertainpoliciesandproceduresintheCodeofConduct.Failureto
    followtheZeroTolerancepoliciesandproceduresintheCodeofConductwillresultinyour
    beingdismissedfromtheclub.

    PLAYERSPLEDGE:
    MygoalistobecomethebestplayerIcanbe.OnlyIamresponsibleformyownactions.Iam
    fullycommittedtoKnockOutVolleyballClubandthereforewillabidebythefollowingpolicies
    andprocedures:IunderstandthatifIviolatethebelowpoliciesandproceduresthatitmayresult
    indisciplinaryactionfrommycoachatthecoachssolediscretion:Iwillworkwithmyparents
    tomakesurethatIhavesigneduptoplaywithKnockOutVolleyballClubandIunderstandifI
    donotcompletethistask,Iwillnotbeabletoplay.Iwillbescorekeepercertifiedand
    understandifIdonotcompletethistask,Iwillnotbeabletoplay.IunderstandthatImusthave
    completedacurrentclubyearMedicalReleaseFormandifIdonotcompletethistask,Iwillnot
    beabletoplay.Iwillpracticehard,playhardandstrivetodomybestatalltimes.Irecognize

    theuniqueaspectsofvolleyballandwilllearnfrommymistakes.Iwilltakeresponsibilityfor
    mymistakesandwillnevermakeexcusesorlayblamewithmyteammates.Iwillorganizemy
    timesothatmyotherobligationsdonothindermyobligationstomyteam.Iwilldisciplinemy
    bodybygettingadequatesleepbeforeatournamentandbyeatingahealthydietandwillabstain
    fromjunkfoodduringatournament.Iwillkeepourpracticefacilityandtournamentareaclearof
    alltrashandwillleavetheareaasIfoundit,ifnotbetter.Iwillnotchewgumduringpractices,
    scrimmagesandtournaments.Iwillnothorsearoundatpractices,scrimmagesortournaments
    asIneedtoconcentrateonthetaskathandandIrealizeitisadistractiontomyteammatesand
    opponents.Iwillbemodestwhensuccessfulandgraciousindefeat.Iwillacceptconstructive
    coachingcriticismanddisciplineformyactions.

    ZEROTOLERANCEPOLICIESANDPROCEDURES:
    IwillrepresentKnockOutVolleyballClubinapositivemanneratalltimesthatwillbringcredit
    andprestigetomyselfandtheKnockOutVolleyballprogram,bysupportinganddisplayinga
    positiveattitudetowardmyteammates,opponentsandcoachesatalltimes,bothonandoffthe
    volleyballcourt.Iwillberespectfulofallopponents,teammates,coaches,fansandgame
    officialsatalltimes.Iwillnotusefoulorabusivelanguageormakemaliciouscommentswith
    respecttomyteammates,coaches,opponentsorofficials,bothonoroffthevolleyballcourt.I
    willnotdisseminatefalseinformationtoothermembersofK.O.Iwillattendeverypractice,
    tournamentandteamfunction.IfIamunabletodoso,Iwillmakesuremycoachhasbeen
    notifiedIwillbereadyandpreparedforpractices,scrimmagesandtournamentsontime(15
    minutesearlyforpracticesandscrimmagesand1hourearlyfortournaments).Beingready
    meansshoes,anklebracesandkneepadsonandreadytogo,notsittinginthecaroronthegym
    floorputtingthemon.Beingpreparedmeanshavingallmyequipmentandawaterbottle.Iwill
    communicateinapositivemanner,bothonandoffthecourt,withmyteammatesandcoaches.I
    realizethatateamismadeupofindividualsandthateveryonecannotstart.Iacceptmyroleon
    theteamandwhatittakestobeapartofmyteam.IfIhaveaconcernaboutplayingtime,itis
    myresponsibility,notmyparents,totalktothecoach.Iunderstandthatthisistheproperchain
    ofcommandandthatmyparentsarenottodiscussplayingtimewiththecoach,eitherdirectlyor
    viaemailorthetelephone.IalsounderstandthatIwillnotdiscussplayingtimewithmycoach
    immediatelybefore,duringorafteratournament.IfIhaveanissuewithplayingtime,I
    understandthatthepropertimetotalktothecoachisbeforeorafterpractice.Iunderstandthat
    myparentshavebeeninformedoftheproperchainofcommandregardingplayingtime.Iwill
    notreactinanegativemannertowardsmyteammateswhentheymakeerrors,butwillencourage
    theminapositivewayandwillsupportthemasamemberofmyteam.Iwillacceptallcoaching
    commentsandassignmentsonlyaswaysinwhichtheteamandmyselfmightimprove.Iwillnot
    useanyelectronicequipment(cellphones,Ipods,computers,etc.)whenIamatornearthe
    scorekeeperstable,whetherIamtheofficialscorekeeperornot.Ifourteamisassigned
    scorekeepingandrefereedutiesattheendofatournament,Iwillstaywiththeteamregardlessof

    whetherIhaveanassignmentornotasIwanttobeagoodrepresentativeofK.Oatalltimes.I
    understandifIquitK.O.duringtheseason,IwillnotbeallowedtoreturntoplayforK.O.Iwill
    notusedrugs,tobaccoandalcohol.Iwillnotuseabusiveorfoullanguage.Iwillneverquestion
    lineupsorcoachingdecisions.IunderstandthatmyfailuretocomplywithanyoftheZero
    Tolerancepoliciesandprocedureswillbedeemedasbeingcontrarytothepositivedevelopment
    ofKnockOutVolleyballClubandmyteamandwillresultinmybeingdismissedfromtheclub.
