Academic Language-- Frisbee, offense, defense, boundaries, teamwork, safety
Concepts1. Master the throwing of a Frisbee; 2. Learn offense and defense strategies; 3. Stay within the
boundaries of the game; 4. Work well with your team; 5. Follow the safety rules laid out by the instructors.
Skills1. Throwing the Frisbee; 2. Practicing offense and defense; 3. Working well with your team.
ApplicationsThe students will demonstrate these skills by playing the game successfully with their teams.

Instructional Strategies/Activities:
Coaching Cues:
The gym will be divided in half by a row of cones. Two cones will be placed at both ends

or intercepted, the Frisbee is turned over to the other team. The students will line up in
the center of the gym from shortest to tallest. One teacher will number the students off,
1-4, and they will go to their assigned spots to their teams. The two teachers will stand
on opposite ends of the gym. The offensive teams will work as a team to move their

Frisbee to the touchdown reaching by throwing it. The defensive teams will work to
prevent successful passes of the Frisbee by the offensive teams. If the defensive teams
intercept the Frisbees, or the offensive teams drop the Frisbee, the Frisbee is turned
over. The students will play until one team in each match reaches three points. Two of
the teams will switch so that the winning teams can play against each other, and the
other two teams can play against each other. In the second round, the teams will play
until one reaches two points.

Materials and Resources:

Cones, four spot markers, two Frisbees.

Safety Reminders:
1. Do not throw the
Frisbee at anyone; Make
sure that your
teammates are ready to
catch the Frisbee.
2. Be aware of Frisbees
being thrown around
you.
3. If your Frisbee flies into
the boundaries of the
other game, make sure
the area is clear before
you retrieve it, so that
you are not ran over or
hit with their Frisbee.

Modeling Content Expectations ( I do activities):

We will remind the students of the rules of the previous
game. We will explain to them that this game is very
similar except with Frisbees instead of bean bags.
Guided Practice (We do):
We will do a practice round of the game.

Winning teams
will show that
they
have
mastered
the
objectives of this
game.

If a student is in a
wheelchair, they can still
play the game with their
peers. The rules are still the
same.

Independent Practice (You do; may include

Homework):
The teams will play against one another in two separate
games. They will play until one team in each match has
three points. The teams will switch so that the teams can
play for first, second, third, and fourth places.
