    1996 Homicide Suspect Apprehended

    A 35-year old male arrested in Ohio has been identified as wanted in Herndon for a 1996
    homicide and has been extradited back to Virginia.

    Joseph Real, of the 100 block of High Street in Tiro, OH, was arrested in November 2009
    by the Crawford County (OH) Sheriff Department for felonious assault. During a pre-
    release screening, Real, who had been using the name Fidel Santacruz, was identified as
    wanted in the May 17, 1996 homicide of Wilfredo Argumendo in Herndon.

    On May 14, 2010, detectives from the Herndon Police Department extradited Real back
    to Virginia. Real is being held without bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention
    Center.
