MODELS OF MANAGEMENT IN

SOCIO-POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT..

SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT..
• Includes one’s living and working conditions, income level ,
educational background and the communities they are part
of.
• it is made up of the cultures , institutions and networks of

individuals and groups , formal and informal…adding value


to life.
• Social capital is the productive value inherent in our

relationships.
• Social strata, system, values, norms and cultures affect an

individual’s behavior
POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT..
•includes all laws, government agencies, and lobbying
groups that influence or restrict individuals or
organizations in the society.
•Political power is the influencing and control capability

of people to direct money ,people ,strategy and tactics of


an organization
•The political climate floating in a country in which an

individual lives affects his behavior. Also the political


system creates certain inbuilt personality traits in the
individual since childhood.
SOCIO-POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT..

The factors that affect this are income support ,


education ,health care , health promotion , employment and


working conditions ,child care, housing..etc
MODELS OF MANAGEMENT IN SOCIO-
POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT..

Basically ,there are two models of management;

….Indian model of management


….. western model of management
INDIAN MODEL OF MANAGEMENT..
• Important factors that represents this model;

Human values and


Holism.
Human values ..
•Refer to spiritual, ethical and moral values.

•These values act as base for thoughts ,actions ,skills and

behavior and shapes good character.


•Creates good man, good manager and good organization..set

good examples in society.


•Will satisfy hunger of soul and will make people wider in their

concept.
Holism..
•means oneness or unity.

•Wider concept than systems approach.

•Tells that there must be harmonious development of soul,

body mind and intellect of a human being as these are


interconnected, interrelated and interdependent.
•Is unity and there is absence of duality and conflict.
INDIAN MODEL OF MANAGEMENT..
•Based on factors like holism and human values.
•Based on morality being a spiritualistic model.

•Shows how the goals are to be achieved in accordance with

non-violence, impartiality, peace, gentleness, humility..etc.


•Tells that virtues like ; calmness of mind, self-control,

moderation, forgiveness, yoga leads to the attainment of


desired goals.
•Doesn’t believes in money=happiness.

Objective..
•To escape from misery and attain happiness…
WESTERN MODEL...

This management model based on Rationality.


It is more Scientific and Technology oriented.

Fragmentation of human consciousness.

Lacking of value system

Independent of ethical and moral considerations

Lack of social orientation and integration.

Has been largely materialistic due to growth in scientific

knowledge .
Inadequate in addressing the problems of modern society.

Grown into complex living , low thinking..


IMPACTS OF WESTERN SOCIETY..

•Increase in teenage pregnancies.

•more Drug addictions.

•Depressing loss of idealism

•Increase in youth suicides..

•Road accidents..etc..
