    EXPERIMENT 3

    Aim: To prepare and submit 10ml of Chloroform Water I.P.

    Formulation Table (As per I.P.):

    Ingredients Quantity given Quantity taken Activity

    1. Chloroform I.P. 2.5 ml Pharmaceutical aid

    2. Purified water q.s.1000ml Water

    Procedure:
    Measure the required quantity of chloroform. Add sufficient quantity of purified water to make
    the required volume with constant stirring so that chloroform gets uniformly mixed.

    Dose: 15 to 30 ml

    Category: Pharmaceutical Aid.

    Storage: store in well closed container in cool place away from light.

    EXPERIMENT 4

    Aim: To prepare and submit 10ml of Anise Water B.P.C.

    Talc 50g.

    Procedure:

    Dissolve the oil in the alcohol, add the water gradually, shaking after each addition, add purified
    talc, keep it aside for few minutes shake occasionally, filter.

    Dose: .3 to 1 ml

    Storage: store in well closed container in cool place away from light.

    EXPERIMENT 5

    Aim: To prepare and submit 20ml of Gripe Water

    Sodium Bicarbonate 1gm Antacid

    Sodium Benzoate 500mg Preservative

    Dill Water conc. I.P. 2ml Carminative

    Peppermint Water 2ml Carminative

    Syrup I.P. 2ml Viscosity, Flavour

    Purified Water q.s.100ml Vehicle

    Purified Talc 2gm Distributing Agent

    Procedure:
    Dissolve the Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Benzoate in the water. Add aromatic waters and
    syrup in successive quantities shaking after each addition. Make up the required volume with
    water. Add purified talc, keep it aside for few minutes shake occasionally, and filter.

    Dose: As Directed by Physician

    Category: Antacid, Carminative

    Storage: store in well closed container in cool place away from light.

    EXPERIMENT 6

    Aim: To prepare and submit 15ml of Simple Syrup I.P.

    Formulation Table (As per I.P.):

    1. Sucrose . 667gm Sweetening agent

    2. Purified water q.s.1000ml Water

    Procedure:
    Measure the required quantity of sucrose, add sufficient quantity of purified water and heat until
    it dissolves with occasional stirring. Addsufficient boiling water to makeup the volume.

    Category: Pharmaceutical Aid.

    Storage: store in well closed container in cool place away from light. Replace cap tightly after
    use.
