    Salvador Dalí was a famous Spanish painter born in 1904 in Figueres, Catalonia. He is considered one of the most important surrealist artists and was known for his unique and bizarre paintings featuring melting clocks and other strange imagery. In addition to painting, Dalí also worked in film, sculpture, and writing. He had homes in various parts of Catalonia, including a house in Port Lligat that was strategically placed to be the first with morning sunlight. There is now a museum dedicated to Dalí in his birthplace of Figueres that contains many of his paintings, sculptures, and other works chronicling his life and career.
