Nicole LIVINGSTONE

Achievement
Few Australian athletes have turned their sporting success into such an enduring media career as Nicole Livingstone. One of the greatest backstroke swimmers in Australian Swimming history, Nicole Livingstone was a member of the Australian swimming team for an astounding twelve consecutive years from 1985 - 1996. In 1987 she began the longest winning sequence of any Australian swimmer in history at the national titles, winning ten consecutive 100m backstroke titles between 1987 and 1996. With a trophy cabinet that must be straining under the weight, Nicoles career achievements include a silver medal and two bronze medals from three Olympic appearances; six gold, two silver and a bronze from three Commonwealth Games and competing in six Pan Pacific Championships winning four gold, two silver and a bronze. She also broke a world record in the 200m backstroke (short course) in 1992. Following the 1996 Olympic Games Nicole retired from competitive swimming and began what has become a stellar career in television with the Nine Network. This has seen her demonstrate her variety of skill and presenting flair in a number of roles - from the hosts chair of the flagship sports programs Wide World of Sports and Sports Saturday, to hosting the Commonwealth Games and as an expert commentator with Nines Logieaward winning swimming coverage. In 2006 Nicole worked along side comedian and armchair sportsman, Mick Molloy on weekly sports program Any Given Sunday. 2008 saw Nicole return to co-host the revamped Wide World of Sport with Ken Sutcliffe. In 2009 Nicole joined Channel Ten, working on their new 24-hour digital sports channel ONE - as a host and commentator on their swimming broadcast. With such a busy media career, Nicole has honed her skills as a juggler balancing her professional commitments with her role as a busy mother of ten-year-old twins, Ella and Joshua and five year old Robinson. She also chairs a state government advisory group on body image and is a co-founder of the Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

Excellent. Nicole was a pleasure to work with. She is very friendly, open and passionate and really held the attention of the audience. Nicole got fully involved in the evening and mingled with guests after the awards were over.
