Woodruff Church of God e-Edition Newsletter September 18, 2012

Pastors Notes: I want to thank every person who took a Missions bag this past Sunday. From now until sometime in February, we will be working on saving our money in those missions bags. We plan to work on 4 important areas in the Western Territory of Honduras. #1 Education Many of the pastors cannot read nor write. This puts them at a great disadvantage. The ability to read and write will help them in their study of Gods Word and preaching the Gospel. It will also help them attract educated people to their church, who will then bring more resources into the church. The ability to read and write will lead them to teach others in their church to read & write. They also will have more opportunities for jobs that will help them to feed their families, help the families in the church and bring resources to the church. #2 Living Conditions Many of the Church of God parsonages do not have floors or sufficient roofs. This causes several health issues for the people. We want to do what we can to pour concrete floors in these homes and help to replace roofs. #3 Food many of these pastor & families have very little to eat. They are in rural areas, where they survive on nature. They do have land nor resources to purchase seeds to plant. We want to provide seeds, fertilizer and tools to empower the people to grow their own crops and to become self sufficient. #4 Health As stated earlier, many of the people have health issues, some because of their living conditions. Some need medical attention but have no resources to get help. We will be sending some money in October that will help 15 pastors and 6 of their wives get medical attention. A little bit goes a long ways there. Over the next 6 months, pray for these 4 areas and put money in the missions bag to help support these areas. Last year, our missions offering was $10,300 (more donations brought this total even higher). I would love for us to go FAR AND BEYOND that amount this year. We can do it if EVERYONE will do their part. Can we count on you to do your part? Here are a couple of pictures of the roofs we saw..

BABY DEDICATION October 7 in the AM Service. If you have a child that needs to be dedicated to the Lord, please call the church office and give us your childs name. Remember, Baby Dedication is as much about the parents as the child. At least one of the parents needs to be a born again believer. Dedication is about offering the child back to the Lord and committing that you will do everything within your power to lead that child to the Lord at the earliest possible age.

Our bodies are sanctuaries and temples of GOD and we should treat them accordingly. WEIGH TO GO is open to all diets, eating disorders, and food addictions. So come and join us in this life changing journey. WEIGH TO GO meets every Tuesday at 6pm for optional weigh in and meeting to follow at 6:30pm. We meet in the classrooms underneath the main sanctuary. The entrance to the classrooms is located in the alley between the main church and youth building. So come and join us in our journey to improve our health and GOD'S Holy temples. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!
