In December, 75 District XI members had fun at the annual Christmas social participating in dancing, cornhole, and a photo booth. This past summer, FFA chapters from Okeechobee and Sebring held a car wash to raise money for District XI member Kaleb Langdale who was injured in an alligator encounter. Upcoming events include the District XI Contest in January and a community service project.

    DISTRICT X & XI AT THE LTC FOR THE FIRST X-TREME RODEO CONFERENCE! PICTURES

    X-Treme RODEO Conference

    On September 15-16, over 90 District X and District XI FFA members came to the LTC to experience the very first X-Treme RODEO Conference. The students arrived bright and early in the morning for registration on Saturday, then started their first leadership session entitled I.M.P.A.C.T, with Valerie McKee, 2010-2011 Florida FFA State Secretary. The members spent the next four hours learning about team communication, the power of diversity, and how to resolve conflict. These sessions were run by the District X Officers, Wally Martin and Victoria Baker; Area 5 State Officer, David Walden; Area 6 State Officer, Ashley Hassan; and your District XI Officers, Megan Stein and Brandon McKee.

    The students were then challenged to help decide on District and Chapter activities in the District XI Planning Session. This included S.M.A.R.T Goals and mission statements. The night concluded with a dance and plenty of wobble-ing. Sunday was a time to put your leadership to the test with games ranging from soccer, to a scavenger hunt, to a classic tug-o-war game. Thank you to each District XI member and Advisor who came to this conference!

    District XI Ho-Ho-Ho Down

    On December 15th, over seventy-five members from District XI met at Sebring High School for the second annual District XI Christmas Social. Between dancing, corn hole, and a photo booth, a good time was had by all! Thank you to all of those who made the event a success!

    Kaleb Fred Langdale Car-Wash

    In July, the Okeechobee Brahman Chapter along with Sebring FFA members held a car wash at Tractors Supply in Okeechobee to raise money for Kaleb Langdale, a District XI FFA Member who suffered injuries from an alligator encounter. All the proceeds made at the car wash were given directly to Kaleb. Thank you to all those in our District who came to help during this time of need!
