A. Department of Health and Human Services Aging and Disability Services Division

Pursuant to Assembly Bill 240, Section 1 of the 2011 Legislature, Aging and Disability Service Division (ASDS) requests authority to contract with a former state employee who will provide psychiatric services to perform mental evaluations for the Elder Protection Rights program. NRS 159.044 (3) requires that this evaluation be conducted by a licensed physician and ASDS does not employ licensed psychiatrists.

This is the first amendment to the interlocal agreement, which provides new funding for weatherization assistance for low income families to the Department of Business and Industry, Housing Division, Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services will give 5 percent of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program Block Grant funds to WAP. WAP encourages and enables households to reduce their home energy needs by providing for various energy conservation measures, which decreases the need for energy assistance.
