This is just like the 10 Spot Shooting Drill where you shoot a series of shots from close range, mid range, and long range. For players ages 8 to 11, pick 5 spots instead.

This workout demonstrates how you may incorporate chair drills into a shooting regimen. For the Make em and Step Back Drill, you can do this by yourself. Just shoot the ball, get your rebound and go back to your shooting spot. Depending on skill and age level, shoot from 4 spots, 5 spots, 6 spots, or 7 spots.

P a g e | 10 Individual Shooting Workout # 5 This is an advanced workout. Instead of shooting the ball, you have to make the shot. It challenges you mentally, and it really makes you focus. Warm Up: 30 Mikans 20 Form Shots (Wall or Line Shooting) 90 Grooves
Sequence: 1. Start approximately 8 feet away from the basket. Make two shots facing the hoop, stepping in with the right foot. Make two shots facing the hoop, stepping in with the left foot. Make two shots using a right pivot. Make two shots using a left pivot. You do NOT have to make two in a row. You just need to make two baskets before you move on. 2. Make 5 Free Throws. 3. Move back a couple of feet and do the same thing. You should now be shooting from 10 or 11 feet.
Shooting Range Shots should come 8 feet, 10 feet, 12 feet, 14 feet and so on. If you have a long shooting range, you could move back three or four feet at a time. Shooting Spots You could shoot from 3 to 6 spots at the same shooting angle. On the last spot, repeat a shot off of the dribble. Shooting Angles Do this from 3 to 5 angles. Shooting angles could come from the wings, corners, and the middle of the court. The diagram shows the spots if shooting from 4 spots at 5 angles.

If time restricts you to shoot all of the shots, you could: Make 1 shot, instead of two. Only shoot from 2 to 3 spots at each angle.
If you want a very challenging workout, require the shooter to make 2 in a row.

This is a sample partner workout that you might do using chairs. Remember, when doing chair drills with a partner, the shooter should rebound his/her own shot and pass it back to his/her partner, who will be standing by the chair to place it back on the chair. Then, the shooter will go to the other chair and perform the same sequence. If the shooter misses, he/she rebounds his/her own shot and lays it in before he/she passes it back to the partner.
