LAPTOP POLICY
Students enrolled in the Les Roches programs will need to have individual access to our intranet website, which hosts student information, including support and teaching documents and other learning resources. Students will also need to use internet for their project research, to access on-line library resources or e-mails. Two options are available to meet our requirements: 1. Students may bring their own laptop provided it meets the institutions requirements. Specifications will be sent directly to the student upon confirmation of enrollment and are also published on our website (www.lesroches.edu) 2. Students may purchase their personal laptop through a website jointly developed with Les Roches and the supplier. Students will be able to choose between different models from basic to the most sophisticated equipment ranging between CHF. 2,000. and CHF. 3,000.-. Access to the website will be sent directly to the student upon confirmation of enrollment.

ROOM, BOARD & PARKING


Room fees include accommodation in a double room in Bluche or Crans-Montana and full board includes generally 3 meals a day, 5 days a week; brunch and dinner on Saturday, Sunday. Students may book a single room, subject to availability. Since the demand is high and the number of rooms is limited, students will be given priority on a first paid, first served basis. Any students living off campus, subject to the campus directors written approval and HO III/BBA/PGD/MBA students living at Les Cheminots or in buildings in Crans-Montana can choose not to have dinner and weekend meals at a discount of CHF. 850.- per semester. The prices below are in Swiss francs, per person and per semester. TUITION & FEES - TERMS & CONDITIONS


TUITION COVERS Tuition, school nurse, some events and facilities (i.e. conferences, leisure and sports activities, library), administration costs, professional uniform, laundry and ironing of professional clothes (kitchen and service), other school supplies, visitors tax, cantonal and communal taxes, administration charges for the visa and work permit (excluding where there are legal and court charges, if the visa or permit is refused and an appeal is made), administration charges for internship(s), Swiss VAT, membership for the Alumni Association of Les Roches, tutoring (when necessary), industry presentations, examiner fees and career advice. Any unused services, clothes, school supplies, benefits, etc. included in the tuition fees are non refundable.

TUITION DOES NOT COVER Damage deposit, books, accident insurance (professional and non-professional), health insurance, parking, special / single accommodation, personal expenses including travel to and from the school and the internship site, pocket money.

FINANCIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS


A P P L I C AT I O N F E E An application fee of CHF. 100.- is required with each application. Complete credit card information must be provided. This fee is not refundable.

P R E - PAY M E N T New students: upon acceptance of your application, a pre-payment of CHF. 3,000.- must be paid within 30 days from the date of the acceptance letter, in Swiss francs, by bank transfer, check or credit card. This pre-payment confirms your place in the program and is refundable if a written cancellation is posted before the 15th of November (for winter intake) or 15th of May (for summer intake). The pre-payment is deducted from the first semesters invoice. Returning students: Before returning to school, a pre-payment of CHF. 3,000.- must be paid within 30 days from the date of the pro-forma invoice, in Swiss francs, by bank transfer, check or credit card. This pre-payment confirms your place in the semester and is refundable if a written cancellation is posted before the 15 th of November (for winter intake) or 15 th of May (for summer intake). The pre-payment is deducted from the semesters invoice. Please note: in case the student postpones the start of his/her studies to the next semester, the above cancellation statement does not apply. DAMAGE DEPOSIT A refundable damage deposit of CHF. 1,000.- is required to cover any damage caused to Les Roches property by the student during his/ her studies. It is payable at the time of the first semesters invoice and is refundable three months after final check-out.

PAY M E N T S Payments should be made in full in Swiss francs no later than the 15 th of November for the winter intake and no later than the 15 th of May for the summer intake. Payments can be made by bank transfer, check or credit card. Students will not be permitted to begin their studies until payment for the semester has been received. Swiss Resident permit, academic diplomas and degrees are only delivered / awarded when all fees and charges have been paid.

REFUND POLICY AND REVIEW OF FEES The tuition fees paid for each semester are non refundable. If a student is dismissed or withdraws from the semester, only the fees covering the accommodation and board are reimbursed (proportional to the number of weeks remaining in the semester). Les Roches reserves the right to review and modify the tuition fees of each semester at any time and without notice. To maintain the standards expected from the institution, the fees are reviewed annually in July / August.

H E A LT H & A C C I D E N T I N S U R A N C E Students are required to have health insurance recognized by the Swiss authorities (information is available from the school reception). Students in semester 1 are required to take the health insurance provided by the school and will automatically be registered by the institution at the most competitive rate which may vary from one semester to another (the current rate is CHF. 685.- per semester). Students who accept the school health insurance are also covered for accident. Students with their own health insurance will have to pay an additional CHF. 132.- per semester for accident coverage while on campus. This accident insurance only covers students while on campus.

OTHER EXPENSES It is estimated that students require a minimum sum of CHF. 400.-/500.- per month to finance their out-of-pocket expenses such as snacks and drinks, entertainment, personal office supplies, laundry and any other personal expenses.

UNIFORM FOR DIRECT ENTRY STUDENTS Direct entry students to HO II (semester 3) of the SHA diplme will be charged CHF. 970.- for their uniform and direct entry students to HO III (semester 5), will be charged CHF. 720.-. Students progressing from the English language course to the first semester of one of the programs, will only pay the additional fee for the service and/or kitchen uniform as well as the kitchen tool kit.

INTERNSHIP (when applicable) All students are requested to complete their internship(s) in establishments approved by Les Roches. The main objective is to prepare students for their professional career by developing their managerial, entrepreneurial and personal skills to their fullest through interesting and challenging internships. Les Roches has established excellent relationships with the hospitality and tourism industry, and a wide choice of training possibilities is offered to students in large or small companies, in Switzerland or abroad. However, some countries can be restricted by Government visa and work permit policies as well as language requirements. Although internships are generally paid by the employer, the remuneration received cannot be expected to finance studies at Les Roches.

V I S A P R O C E D U R E F O R A C C E P T E D C A N D I D AT E S Accepted candidates will receive information on the visa or residency permit procedure from the Admissions Department. Depending on the candidates nationality one of the following will happen: A. Some candidates will receive a list of documents which need to be completed for the Swiss Embassy. Candidates must make a personal request at the Swiss Embassy in their country of residence. After 6 to 8 weeks, the local Swiss authorities will notify the school of the visa status and a copy will be mailed or faxed to the candidate. The candidate must then contact the Swiss Embassy to collect his/her original visa to ensure that all formalities are settled for the journey. B. Some candidates will receive a list of documents that need to be sent to the school. In this case, Les Roches will directly apply to the local Swiss authorities for the candidates long-term authorization. C. Some candidates with European Union passports and those from countries with which Switzerland has bilateral agreements, need only to send documents to the school and fill in a special form on arrival. Please note: copy of authorization to collect the visa will only be sent to the candidate if the pre-payment has been made within 30 days of the date of acceptance.
