rezoning, and wanted to re-set the
whole matter back to zero. Councillors
Norgaard & Baker claimed conflict in the

the end of the asphalt plant

A healing volunteer
experience

Until they run out of 10-lb boxes of

apples & 4-lb boxes of mandarins, Footprints Harvest will donate a portion of
the proceeds of sales to support an initiative that is dear to the heart of Susan
Norgaard. Susan is a survivor of breast
cancer, surgery, and chemo & radiation
treatments, and next spring she will be
headed to India to volunteer with the
Fresh Chapter Foundation.
A Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation
was founded by Terri Wingham of Vancouver, also a breast cancer survivor,
who found it difficult to return to her
normal life after her illness. She travelled & volunteered in several countries
and found that this journey not only
brought more meaning back into her life,
but also ignited a passion and encouraged her to start "a fresh chapter".
Susan was astonished to find that
Terris articles and blogs entries resonated deeply with her, almost as though
shed written them herself.
She submitted an application in October and was selected to be one of the 12
cancer survivor ambassadors to travel to
& volunteer in India next March, the 2nd
Fresh Chapter Foundation group to do so.
Volunteers pay their own accommodation, meals, activities and flights, a
total of $3500. And Susan had already
been saving money & Air Miles towards
a trip to India, which had been on the top
of her bucket list for a very long time.
But she decided to fundraise in order
to "pay it forward" and provide the opportunity to another cancer survivor. She
thought the process would bring awareness of the physical, emotional and financial challenges cancer survivors face
some issues that she knows first-hand.

Buck Hunters

A lawyer, a doctor, and a preacher went hunting together. When a prize buck ran past them,
they all fired at the exact same moment and the buck dropped. However, there was only one
bullet hole, and they didn't know which of them shot it. So they took it to the registration center,
not knowing who should tag it. The agent said, "Let me look at the deer. Sometimes I can
figure it out." He asked a few questions, examined the deer carefully, and declared, "The
