Support for both IPv4 and IPv6 multicast routing Support for PIM-SSM (Source Specific Mode)
Spirents Multicast Conformance Test Suites provide a comprehensive series of predefined test cases.
Spirent conformance test suites are currently available for all basic IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF. Results include pass/fail statistics, full ladder diagrams and comprehensive protocol decodes. All Spirent conformance test suites can be automated with Tcl. The test suites run on the AX/4000 platform. For details on Spirent conformance testing capabilities, please visit our web site:

Performance Testing
Spirent multicast solutions for performance testing deliver largescale control and data plane testing to fully stress capacity and performance of your multicast devices and networks. Spirents AX/4000 and SmartBits platforms emulate thousands of end users (IGMP or MLD) or PIM routers. Both solutions can generate wirerate unicast and multicast data streams. IGMP/MLD Scalability Testing SmartBits SmartFlow, SmartWindow (included with SmartBits chassis), and SmartMulticastIP products provide scalable IGMP testing. Additionally, a complimentary MLD test is available on SmartBits. AX/4000 offers a free AX/Flow application to test the performance of IGMP control and data plane testing. Functional and performance multicast testing is supported on both AX/4000 Router Performance Tester 4.6 and SmartBits TRT 4.0. Please contact us for details on the multicast implementation on these two platforms.
