Matthew Bronka AMIOA, BAHons


Acoustic Consultant WSP Acoustics Working as an acoustic consultant for over two years and five years in the audio technology field, Matthew is passionate about his career as a professional acoustic consultant. His broad ranging experience includes working in the many aspects of consultancy for building and architectural acoustics, auralisation, planning applications, environmental studies, PA and VA system design. Matthew is involved in each step of the engineering practice from the initial client inquiry and field measurements, to consultation and report writing. He is familiar with relevant industry standards and keeps up to date with current issues within the field. In the last two years Matthew has worked on many projects from large-scale international rail networks and infrastructures to small independent residential developments. Matthew strives to expand his skills in such an exciting and ever changing industry.

2013 SOAS Southampton University Atrium Investigate speech intelligibility for occupants of large renovated atrium creating a 3D model to simulate the Lombard effect of crown noise. Provide advice on minimum acoustic absorption levels to ensure speech intelligibility between occupants is acceptable. 2013 Barclays, 1 Churchill Place Office design Create 3D model to predict speech privacy and assess room acoustic limitations. Provide consultation for performance of building services and architectural finishes to achieve appropriate acoustic environment. Liaise with client to design bespoke furnishings with acoustic treatment.

2012/2013 Harrods Department Store Retail and staff areas Design and predict PA and VA system for 15000m2 of retail and staff areas ensuring emergency announcements are intelligible throughout the space. Liaison with Siemens communications to ensure speaker placement and selection met BS5839 standards whilst satisfying the architectural elements of the retail areas. Advise on architectural elements to meet optimum levels for the proposed system. 2013 Tottenham Court Road - Crossrail Draw and model Western ticket hall, Goslett Yard and all platform areas of Tottenham Court Road Crossail development using acoustic simulation software to predict speech intelligibility from proposed system PA and VA system. Provide acoustic advice on architectural elements using 3D modelling software on wall treatments and speaker placement and selection providing intelligible speech to all public areas. 2012 London Zoo Nuffield Building and Regency Building Carry out advice and assess noise limitations for mechanical plant to serve large cafetieria areas and public leisure areas.
