I. INTRODUCTION
Paper batteries are made by using a combination of nano tubes made from carbon and paper made from cellulose. The process to ma e paper batteries start !ith ma ing a cathode and anode from manganese dio"ide and #inc. These are then printed onto the cellulose paper. The nano tubes made from carbon are then added$%&. The electrolyte is an ion based li'uid solution. Paper batteries may be folded, cut or other!ise shapes for different applications !ithout any loss of integrity or efficiency. Cutting one in half hal(es its energy production. )tac ing them multiplies po!er output. *arly prototypes of the de(ice are able to produce %.+ (olts of electricity from a sample the si#e of a postage stamp$,&.

They ha(e produced a sample slightly larger than a postage stamp that can store enough energy to illuminate a small light bulb. 0ut the ambition is to produce reams of paper that could one day po!er a car. Professor Robert 9inhardt, of Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, said that the paper battery !as a glimpse into the future of po!er storage.$:& The team behind the (ersatile paper, !hich stores energy li e a con(entional battery, says it can also double as a capacitor capable of releasing sudden bursts for high6po!er applications.$;&

Once the paper is immersed in the ion based li'uid solution, there is a chemical based reaction bet!een the li'uid and the electrodes, in the case the nanotubes. The electrons !hich are generated mo(e from the cathode to the anode to generate electricity. The best !ay to increase the output is to stac different paper batteries, one o(er the other.$%&

electrodes, allo!ing the storage de(ices to conduct electricity. The battery !ill currently pro(ide a lo!, steady po!er output, as !ell as a supercapacitor7s 'uic burst of energy. .hile a con(entional battery contains a number of separate components, the paper battery integrates all of the battery components in a single structure, ma ing it more energy efficient and lighter.

The process of construction follo!s< 8irstly, a common Aero" Paper of desired shape and si#e is ta en. Ne"t, by conformal coating using a simple ?ayer rod method, the specially formulated in !ith suitable substrates no!n as CNT in is spread o(er the paper sample. The strong capillary force in paper enables high contacting surface area bet!een the paper and nanotubes after the sol(ent is absorbed and dried out in an o(en. / thin lithium film is laminated o(er the e"posed cellulose surface !hich is then connected to the aluminum current collectors !hich connect it to the e"ternal load. The !or ing of paper battery is similar to an electrochemical battery e"cept !ith the constructional differences.$B&
