Pastors Notes:
As I write this note this morning,
it is Veterans Day. I am sitting
in my office at the
church.freely able to do so. I can write what I
want because I and freely able to do so. I can get in my truck and travel anywhere around me and I
am freely able to do so. You and I have so much to be thankful for this morning. IM PROUD TO
BE AN AMERICAN! So many men and women have served this great country, both in times of war
and peace, to insure that we remain free. I owe a huge debt of gratitude! I thought this morning to a
special time I had as a 9 or 10 year old boy. My grandfather had been in the hospital and my
grandmother and mother did not want him to be at home by himself his first day home. So they let
me stay out of school and sit with him so I could get him anything he needed. For some reason that
day, my grandfather talked about his time in the service. I learned that
he had some shrapnel in his leg from his time in the service. I sat and
listened. I didnt fully understand all he was saying at 9 or 10, but I
vividly remember him talking with me. I will never forget that
moment in time. I also remember so clearly the stories that have been
shared with me from people in our own church. Terry Simmons,
Curtis Culpepper, Frank Patterson.just to name a few.who have
talked about some of their experiences in their service for our country.
Many of these continue to suffer physical effects because of their time
in the military. Please.take time today to be thankful for the
freedoms that we enjoy and especially take time to thank a Veteran!
Every two years there is an election for our Church Administrative Board. This year, there will be at
least 3 men coming off the board and 2 seats that need to be filled because the members serving were
filling a vacated position. The qualifications to be considered for the Administrative Board are as
follows: For a member to serve on the Church and Pastors Council, they must be:
1. A loyal member of the church, adhering to its teachings
2. Baptized in the Holy Ghost (with the evidence of speaking in other tongues)
3. Faithful in tithing
4. A regular church attendant
5. One who works in harmony with the local, state, and general churchs program and
reflects a cooperative attitude toward the progress of the church.
*should two members of the same household be elected, only the member that received the
highest amount of votes will be eligible to serve on the board.
These qualifications, along with a sign up sheet, will be in the church lobby for the next 2 weeks.
This should give ample time for you to prayerfully consider is youd like for your name to be placed
into consideration for the Administrative Board. Voting for the board will take place on November
30th.
There will be another SpringFest Meeting this Thursday evening November 13th at 7:00 PM. We
will meeting in the Council Room in the office area. If you were at the last meeting, please have

BUILDING FUND! So we want everyone to be involved. There are still bags available our in the
lobby in the little baskets on the desks. We are believing for a great monetary harvest this year as we
work to add to our building fund total.
