ABSTRACT

Effectiveness of training has often been researched descriptively. This paper examines
the result of effectiveness of training on employee motivation. The purpose of the
study is to find out whether an effective training given to employees lead to a positive
motivation in them or it affects the psychology of the employees. Exploratory
Research Design has been undertaken during this project wherein the data is collected
from secondary and primary sources. A total of 56 employees from Future Retail
Group specifically Big Bazaar and Pantaloons participated in this study. Out of these
56, 30 belonged to Big Bazaar and the remaining 26 belonged to Pantaloons. Also, in
the research conducted, 33 were males and 23 were females. Standard questionnaires
each for training and motivation are used for the purpose of this report.
Consistent with the hypothesis, the results of the study reveal a significant and
positive effect of training on employee motivation.
It can be seen that 57.6% employees are neutral on the statement they are satisfied
with the recognition they receive in the organization. It can be seen that 61%
employees are neutral on the statement they are satisfied with their responsibility and
role in the organization. It can be seen that 72.9% employees are neutral on the
statement they are satisfied with their achievements in the organization. There exists a
high correlation between quality of supervision and opportunities for personal growth.
It indicates that correlation is significant at these parameters. 94.9% employees feel
that there exists training sessions have a high impact on their hygiene factors of
motivation. 94.9% employees feel that there exists training sessions have a high
impact on their motivator factors of motivation.
It is recommended that to find out what motivates each employee, and make each
individual feel that they have a part to play in the overall success of the business. To
find out what makes staff tick on an ongoing basis you need to measure employee
attitude at key moments of truth for each employee. The best way to do this is to use
employee feedback software which can provide a regular opportunity for employees
to air their thoughts in a non-confrontational way and to provide that information to
team leaders so that they always have an up-to-date picture about how an employee
feels.
