Flex Zones

West Airport
Exhibit Zonal Service 1 - Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport West

What is it?
A Flex Zone is an on-demand, curbside van-based
service open to all passengers.
This service has the advantages of a traditional fixed
bus route with the convenience
of curbside pickup.
How does one use it?
Flex Zones offer the convenience of door-to-door
service by reservation, and the
flexibility of walk-up service from a bus stop. This
service will provide flex service
from any place in your neighborhood flex zone to
any other destination within your
zone, as well as transfer locations to the fixed route
service.

This area is currently served by CAT Route 2 and serves the Savannah/Hilton
Head International Airport. Within a short distance north of the airport is
Georgia Tech Savannah as well as industrial and manufacturing complexes
along the river. Residential areas of Bloomingdale and Pooler are west
southwest of the airport along U.S. Highway 80. The boundaries of this zone
are Jimmy Deloach Parkway to the north, the freight train line and Hwy 80 to
the west and south, and S.R. 21 to the east.

23

Zonal Service

Hybrid between fixed-route and paratransit
