PANIC ATTACKS
We have already mentioned negative thoughts, and these can be the cause of a PANIC ATTACK
starting. We can easily recognize what we “feel”, but don’t always recognize the thought that came
before the feeling.
It is useful therefore to ask yourself, “What was I just thinking about?”
Once identified, if irrational, it can be challenged.

Be someone to turn to for a child. If a child tells you that they are being abused, make it clear
to them that you take what they have told you very seriously and that you are going to help
them. You could provide them with Child Line’s free and confidential 24-hour helpline
number: 08001111. Or you can contact social services. If the child is in immediate life-
threatening danger, call 999.
