I contacted A/
and requested to see the knife he displayed. A/
responded saying he threw the knife on the roof then looked upward. I contacted
the clerk at the market to the west of the restaurant and attempted to see if
the knife may have been stashed in the location. The clerk stated the subject
did enter the market but didn't recall seeing a knife. I then re-contacted
A/
and requested the knife again. A/
pointed towards a small entryway
planter box filled with rocks and stated the knife is in there "but you have to
dig to find it". I managed to locate the knife hidden under numerous rocks. I
showed the knife to V/
, Steven the knife to which he stated "that is
definitely the knife".
I asked A/
what occurred and he stated that he entered the location to ask
a question when he was assaulted by the staff inside. A/
stated he was
struck numerous times in the neck, face and back. I asked A/
how he was
struck and he stated "his hand". A/
then stated he was struck by a chair
inside the location as well. A/
possessed no marks on his face, neck or
back and declined fire at the scene.
A/
was advised he was under arrest and placed into handcuffs. The fit was
checked and the handcuffs were double locked. 1E3, Officer Hirata advised
A/
of his Miranda Warnings via her MIR Card to which he replied "no". He
was then advised again by Officer Hirata of his Miranda Warnings to which he
stated "yes" he understood. A/
person was searched and he was placed in
the rear of the patrol vehicle.
Officer Hirata provided victims and witnesses with statement forms and
requested all parties involve complete a written statement. Parties agreed
they would complete the statement and ensure Officers received the form back.
