Dear Ms. Dollarhide:

I would like to personally thank you for taking an active role in The College of Nursing Entry and
Professional Advancement (EPA) Curriculum Committee, where I serve as the committee Chairperson.
Without hesitation you volunteered to serve as the BSN Program Student Representative for the fall 2016
term, August through December. Your attendance at our monthly two-hour meetings provided insight into
the student perspective relating to the monthly agenda topics.
As you experienced first-hand, our committee is charged with the following responsibilities:
Oversees implementation of the Entry and Professional Advancement programs
Develops curricular and instructional change recommendations for the Entry and Professional
Advancement programs for consideration by the CIS Committee
Assures the implementation of ongoing formative and summative evaluation processes for Entry
and Professional Advancement programs as developed by the CIS Committee.
Presents recommendations for curricular or instructional change to the CIS Committee.
Recommends to the CIS Committee any changes for teaching/learning quality improvement
supports needed, including for simulation, electronic and informatics capabilities.
During your time on the committee this semester, we were heavily involved in reviewing and revising
the College of Nursing Evaluation Plan for the Baccalaureate Program, the Masters Entry into
Professional Practice Program, and the RN to Masters Graduate Program.
Your contributions were vital in presenting the student perspective for optimizing survey data collection
and improving data outcomes. You were professional, able to develop excellent rapport with the
committee members, asked appropriate questions in an articulate manner, and demonstrated confidence in
your ability to express your thoughts and insights. I would welcome your participation in the future if you
decide to go on for further graduate studies. Thank you again!
Sincerely,

Evangeline Dowling, PhD, RN
