Subject: SB4 Committee Sub
Hello advocates,
I am emailing you regarding the SB4 Committee Sub which our office just received.
I have attached the sub and the short analysis of what is being added to the bill.
A very important distinction to make is the added language about "institutions of higher
education," as well as "campus police departments."
Essentially this language brings Texas Universities to this fight now, and includes their
campus police as the same local law enforcement entities noted in the previous bill.
This obviously has problematic implications to undocumented students (DREAMers), of
which Texas universities have many.
Please feel free to share with your contacts who are also advocates, so that the updated
information can reach those who plan to testify on Thursday.
Best,
-Jacob
