George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 and was the first
president of the United States. Before his presidency during the American
Revolution Washington was a commander in chief and general in the
colonial armies. Washington served as President from 1789-1797 and is
known as the Father of his country.
Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. Lincoln served as the
16th President of the United States from 1861 until he was assassinated by
John Wilkes Booth in the presidential box at Ford's Theatre in Washington
D.C. Some of Lincolns major accomplishments include signing the
Homestead Act that allowed low income people to obtain land. He led the
United States through the Civil War and abolished slavery.
John F. Kennedy
John F Kennedy served as the 35th President of the United States. Before
taking office he was an American politician, he took office in January of
1961 and was assassinated in November of 1963. While in office Kennedy
helped establish the peace corps, civil rights movement, and The Cuban
Missile Crisis.
Barack Obama
Barack Obama is the current and 44th President of the United States. He is
the first African American President to take office, and was born in
Honolulu, Hawaii. Before taking office he as a civil rights attorney and
taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School.
