Acronal NX 3587: Fiber Bonding
Acronal NX 3587
Chemical Nature Acronal NX 3587 is an aqueous dispersion of a room temperature crosslinkable acrylic
copolymer

Compatible with Acronal NX 3587 is compatible with other substances commonly used in nonwoven applications.
Applications
Features Acronal NX 3587 is suitable for bonding nonwovens of all types. In view of its soft handle, it is
particularly suitable for the production of nonwoven interlinings. The dispersion is also recommended
for coating and impregnating woven and knitted fabrics. Another field of application for Acronal NX
3587 is the production of laminated textiles.
Acronal NX 3587 can be applied with conventional impregnating, spraying, and coating and lick-roll
applicators. For blade coating, the dispersion can be converted into a paste with thickeners. Acronal
NX 3587 can be converted into foam by injecting or stirring-in air. The stability of the resultant foam
can be improved by addition of surfactants or thickeners.
When completely crosslinked, the film that Acronal NX 3587 yields is insoluble in most organic
solvents. A slight swelling can occur.
Processing The pH value of compounding formulations should be in the neutral-to-alkaline range before Acronal
NX 3587 is added. Rotary displacement pumps are recommended for coating colors prepared with
Acronal NX 3587.
Material Safety Data Sheet All safety information is provided in the Material Safety Data Sheet for Acronal NX 3587.
Storage
Acronal NX 3587 has a shelf life of six months from delivery date, provided it is stored in accordance
with the “Handling and Storage of polymer dispersions” brochure. Technical information regarding the
storage of BASF polymer dispersion products is available upon request.
