Q: Will Zorn be touring in my area? Where can I find Zorn tourdates?
A: Unfortunately, there is no place on the web where Zorn posts his tourdates. Tzadik's site used to have a "Gigs" section with not just Zorn, but tons of Tzadik and downtown artist tourdates, but it must have been too hard to update and maintain because it's been gone for years. However, you can find Zorn's gig information through a few incomplete online sources: Zorn doesn't seem to get out of New York City or Europe very often, so your best bet is to go to New York City. Zorn frequently plays Tonic, so check out their page if you're in the area. You can also check the Village Voice music listings search engine, but they only go week by week. Pollstar has a website with tourdates for lots of artists, including Zorn, but they don't list stuff by him very often. If you're interested in Masada tourdates, you can check out Dave Douglas' page, which has Masada's tourdates. Q: Where can I find live tapes of Zorn performing? A: I don't know. There are usually a few tapers at Zorn's concerts, so tapes are out there, but I've never been interested in collecting tapes, so I don't really know where to find people to trade with. I don't know Zorn's opinion on people taping his concerts, but it's fine by me as long as people just trade and don't try to make money off of it.
