MSME Sector in India
• Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has
emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian
economy over the last five decades. MSMEs not only play
crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at
comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but
also help in industrialization of rural & backward areas,
thereby, reducing regional imbalances, assuring more
equitable distribution of national income and wealth.
• MSMEs are complementary to large industries as ancillary
units and this sector contributes enormously to the socio-
economic development of the country.

CONCLUSION

• It is important to appreciate that the social and economic costs of

OHS incidents are extremely high which no organization can afford.
• Business Planning process must include its share of OHS concerns.
The safety should be addressed right from the design level. Very
often the problem is our inability to anticipate issues at the beginning
rather than availability of sufficient resources.
• Adoption of OHS management system is no longer an option it is an
imperative.

CONCLUSION (Cont’d)

• Employees at all levels should be made aware of the

issues involved and should be encouraged to participate in
OHS Management at every stage.
• Behavioral aspect in safety needs to be addressed.
