Multi-Service Lubricants

Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service Lubricants are NLGI 00 high

viscosity base oil gel (greases) designed to lubricate heavily loaded open gears,
screw type actuators, and low to moderate velocity bushings and plain and
rolling element bearings equipped with centralized or sump type lubrications
systems.

Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031Multi-Service Lubricants are part of Castrol

Performance Lubricants’ Eco-Solutions™ product offering. Formulated to
address environmental concerns, Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service
Lubricants are free of lead, chlorinated solvents, and barium. They contain no
solvents or diluents, and meets the TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching
Procedure).

This product is formulated to be readily pumpable and slumpable for good

lubricant distribution in enclosed and semi-enclosed applications, and drainable
for ease of removal from surrounding guards. This product is also specifically
formulated to flush contaminants from gear and pinion flanks, and to resist
accumulation in the roots of gear teeth.

Because of their high thixotropic properties, Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-

Service Lubricants may be utilized in Performance Lubricants’ patented batch
recirculating lubricant application systems. This allows for the economical
controlled application of lubricant on a new continuous basis using existing
intermittent spray hardware.

Description
Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service Lubricants are gel-like greases
formulated with a non-soap, inorganic thickening system. They contain a high
viscosity base fluid especially designed to provide extreme pressure (EP) and
antiwear characteristics to the lubricant.

Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service Lubricants contains proprietary

blends of Molub-Alloy lubricating solids in combination with chemical EP
additives. These react synergistically under boundary lubrication conditions to
provide outstanding protection to metal surfaces.

Usage
Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service Lubricants are recommended for
use in applications requiring anti-scuff and antiwear protection, and where no

product buildup is desired. It is also suited for units containing bushings,
bearings and/or gears where ISO 1500, 3000 or 6000 viscosity grade lubricant
is required, but straight fluid lubricants leak out.

Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service Lubricants icants are formulated to

minimize the potential for eventual plugging of the lubricant distribution lines
commonly associated with conventional greases.

Notes
Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-Service Lubricants has been tested for
compatibility with various types of greases and compounds. These tests
indicate that Molub-Alloy 8031 is compatible with most common greases and
multi-purpose compounds. However, if Castrol Molub-Alloy 8031 Multi-
Service Lubricants is to be mixed with another product, monitor the
application for possible incompatibility after the changeover.
