Essential vehicle tactics for hostile environment

This 2-day course is designed to teach the foundation of vehicle tactics used by
PSD teams and security professionals in hostile environments (Iraq, Afghanistan,
Somalia, etc.).
The course will cover techniques and procedures for both non-armored (“soft
skin”) and armored (“B6”) vehicles, as well as skills necessary for effective self-
defense with a handgun in and arounds cars.
You will be able to shoot the cars, shoot from the cars and through the
windshield, work in a team and learn tactics that are currently used by armed
professionals in hostile environments all around the world.

Andrei Ambros

Andrei Ambros a highly accomplished professional within the security


industry who has a wealth of experience within the field of close
protection built on a solid and varied military career spanning over 15
years in the Estonian Army. Experienced in leadership and
management as a commissioned officer with the rank of Captain, who
first achieved success in climbing through the senior non-commissioned
ranks. 9 years experience in command of Special Forces which included
service with foreign and NATO forces. Well versed in conducting
operations within hostile environments to achieve the highest goals by
working in groups or managing and leading teams whilst working
successfully on both commercial and government contracts.
Vlad

Vlad is a defense industry specialist and firearms instructor. He worked in over 15


countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan as a security contractor,
armorer, instructor and consultant.

Part 1

1. Safety rules and their application


2. Weapon zero and zero confirmation at distance
3. Shooting fundamentals refresher – pistol and rifle
4. High ready and low ready positions with rifle and pistol
Part 2

5. Vehicle body ballistics – what can protect you from bullets?


6. Shooting around the car – different positions
Part 3

7. Weapon location in vehicles – high threat/low threat situations


8. Tactics overview – when do you shoot from the car, why do you dismount
from the car, difference in tactics with armored and soft skin vehicles.
9. Shooting through the windshield – when and why?
10.Shooting from the car – individual drills
11.Shooting from the car – team drills
Part 4 (day two)

12.Reaction to ambush, vehicle dismount: front, left, right, rear


13.Reaction to ambush, vehicle dismount – car blocked from one side: right, left
14.Reaction to ambush, vehicle dismount – casualty evacuation: front, left, right,
rear
15.Reaction to ambush, vehicle dismount – transfer of the client to a different car
16.Scenario drills in different locations of the range

Round count: 200 rounds for your pistol, 500 rounds for your rifle, total of 700
rounds for two days. This is rifle course, but pistol will be used extensively.

Bring more ammunition if you can, and if you cannot afford 700 rounds, do not
worry, you can shoot less and still learn everything you need.
Equipment: Eye and ear protection mandatory, scarf/bandana/mask for

protection of airways (nose and mouth) is strongly recommended when


shooting through glass from inside the vehicle to avoid inhalation of glass
particles.

No special requirement for gear – you can use chest rigs, plate carriers, battle
belts, put pouches on you regular belt or just store magazines in your
pockets.

No need to look like a character from “Call of Duty” video game, unless you want
to, nothing is wrong with that.
