Content Standard: The learners demonstrate understanding of key concepts of sets and the real number system.
Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to formulate challenging situations involving sets and real
numbers and solve these in a variety of strategies.
Learning Competencies:
The learners should be able to:
1. describes well-defined sets, subsets, universal sets, and the null set and cardinality of sets.
2. illustrates the union and intersection of sets and the difference of two sets.
3. uses Venn Diagrams to represent sets, subsets, and set operations
FIRST MEETING
Getting to know each other (Personality Test)
Students will be asked to choose one shape such as triangle, Square, Circle or Squiggle.
After the students had chosen, they will be group according to their preference.
The triangle:
Triangle most closely represents leadership. Triangles are ambitious and very interested in their
careers. You are an overseer, an expediter, a leader, a person of action. You are decisive – you

empathy quickly. You are an excellent problem solver.
The Squiggle:
Of the four symbols, the squiggle is the most unique and the most creative. You are original and
are always considering possibilities. You see yourself as always looking for new ideas, new ways
and new products. Others may sometimes consider you a little strange or far-out.

SECOND MEETING
NO CLASS: INDEPENDENCE DAY
V. Procedure
A. Explore: Which is which? (10-15 minutes)
Students will be group into 5 and will be given a like button each group. The teacher will
show different pictures and students will identify which among the objects does not
belong in the group. The first group to raise the like button will have the chance to
answer and will gain points.
Teacher will ask the students the following:
1. What KPOP group do you idolize?
2. How many are they in their group?
3. Can you name the members in their group?
The lesson will be introduced together with the objectives.
B. Firm-Up:
Define the different terminologies such as sets, subsets, universal sets, null sets,
cardinality of sets and other.
Use Venn diagram to represent the concept of sets.
Illustrate the operations of sets, union and intersection of sets
Give enough examples and let the students do some board works.
F. Assignment/Agreement:
Answer Page three letter B on the workbook. Numbers one to fifteen in a one-
half crosswise.
