Films & Companies Korean Film Council

The Korean Film Council (KOFIC), a government-supported, self-

in Hong Kong administered body, strives to promote and support Korean films both in
Korea and abroad. KOFIC’s primary objective is to promote and support

and training. It also strives to further development international markets
for Korean films and to promote inter-cultural understanding through
film-based cultural exchanges.

KOFIC’s main activities are as follows:

 The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) has launched a location incentive in 2011,
which supports part of the expenses of foreign feature film and television
drama series shot in Korea. Productions that choose to shoot in Korea can
enjoy significant cost savings making their international production budgets

KOFIC offers a 25% cash grant on foreign audio-visual works production
expenditure incurred for goods and services in Korea, with a cap of 3.4 billion
KRW(approx 3 million USD). The grant amount shall be determined taking into
account the remaining grant program budget on the date of application.

以现金形式补贴在韩国支出的制作费的25%。补贴金规模以补贴申请日还未发放预
算为准，每部电影最高补贴金额为34亿韩元。

Feature film and television drama series produced by a foreign production
company, in which foreign capital’s participation in the production cost
exceeds 80% will be eligible for this grant. Eligible works must satisfy the
following requirements:

CASH REBATE
Must shoot longer than 10 days in Korea
Must spend no less than 1 billion KRW (approx. USD 900,000) in Korea for
