    NOTICE
    The Chemistry Department, University College of Science, Osmania University is
    organizing a Chemistry Fest dubbed Chem Carnival in view of the ongoing
    Centenary Celebrations on the 15th and 16th March 2018 in collaboration with
    Indian Science Congress Association, Hyderabad Chapter. Interested participants
    pursuing BSc and MSc Chemistry at the main campus, in constituent colleges, and
    associated colleges of Osmania University are requested to register for the event on or
    before 13thMarch 2018. Venue: Dept. of Chemistry, University College of Science,
    OU

    The following are to be noted for participants:


    1. Student ID card is compulsory.
    2. A detailed program schedule has been attached herewith.
    3. Cash prizes will be given for all the events and there will be a lot of other attractive
    prizes other than cash.
    4. Lunch arrangements are to be made by the participants.
    5. Participants should be on time for all the events, the schedule will be strictly adhered
    to.
    6. Good discipline is expected from all participants.

    DAY 1 (15/03/18)

    ChemTrivia (Quiz)
    Instructions:
    1) Two members per team
    2) Any number of teams can participate from each college.
    3) Contains two rounds; preliminary and main round
    4) Prelims will be a written round, which includes GK, current affairs along with
    chemistry.
    5) The top six teams will progress to the main round.
    6) The main round will be exclusively on chemistry and it will be conducted orally.
    7) The organisers’ decision will be final.

    ChemExpo (Posters)
    Instructions:
    1) Two members per team.
    2) Any no. of teams per college can participate.
    3) The poster size will be 1mx1m.
    4) The expo will revolve around the following topics:
    i) Green Chemistry
    ii) Applications of chemistry in industries iii) Chemistry in living systems.
    iv) Future trends and developments in chemistry.
    5) The organisers’ decision will be final.

    DAY 2 (16/03/18)
    ChemHunt
    Instructions:
    1) Three members per team
    2) Any number of teams can participate from each college.
    3) The hunt will consist of a preliminary round followed by the ultimate quest for the
    hunt.
    4) The clues will be chemistry related and may include some abstract reasoning.
    5) 8 teams will be allowed for the final hunt.
    6) The organisers’ decision will be final.

    ChemRangoli
    Instructions:
    1) Two members per team
    2) Any number of teams can participate from each college.
    3) Participants should bring all the necessary requirements by themselves.
    4) Participants will be allowed a maximum of 60 minutes to prepare their art.
    5) The artwork should be chemistry-themed.
    6) The organisers’ decision will be final.

    ChemChrome (Art)

    Instructions:
    1) Two members per team
    2) Any number of teams can participate from each college.
    3) Contains two rounds; preliminary and main round
    4) The preliminary round consists of a chemistry-themed puzzle
    5) For the main round the top six participants will be selected from the prelims.
    6) Participants are required to bring the following: a pen, a pencil, eraser, waste cloth,
    paint brushes and tray, GLUE, as well as cotton.
    7) Chemicals and canvas (piece of cloth) will be provided.
    8) Each team should do their painting only on the provided canvas, using the
    chemicals provided, and must write the simple balanced equation of the same.
    9) Judgment will be based on both the painting and balanced equations.
    10) The organisers’ decision will be final.

    ChemSkit

    Instructions:

    1) 3 to 5 members per team.


    2) Any number of teams can participate from each college.
    3) Skit title is entirely on participants but must be chemistry oriented.
    4) A maximum of 5 minutes will be allowed for each skit.
    5) Judgment will be based on the performance and, chemistry content and integration.
    6) The organisers’ decision will be final.
