Ummeed-e-Bahaar…
…Seasons of life
Nature has hidden lessons for mankind in the course of its silent saga. Each season brings with
it its own emotion: spring is full of hope; it’s the time of the year when Nature resumes her
loveliness. It is the season of flowers, sweet sunshine, joy and excitement.
Summer signifies freedom and exuberance. Being the prime time of the year, it’s a time for
adventure and action in the company of friends. Steeped in sunshine, it’s a season to break
free and have fun.
Monsoon follows summer. Though it brings cheer to the parched land, it connotes sorrow and
despair due to inevitable events or challenges faced by man.
With the onset of winter, life becomes still and silent. Activity gives way to dormancy. But life
doesn’t pause here. There is a phenomenal renewal when earth reawakens from her slumber
and explodes with new life. It’s a lesson for man to embark on new journeys and start new
projects on fresh ideas.
Thus continues the cycle of life with new hopes and aspirations.
Hope is a positive emotion about the future. People who are hopeful have goals that they
want to achieve and they develop plans in order to meet their goals. Developing strong
vision and mission statements can help stakeholders in the school achieve a common goal.
When the school was set up in the year 2000, it was the concretization of a vision and it has
helped us reach where we are today.
Our evolution from one of the community schools to the highest rated school in Doha in
terms of academics, extracurricular activities and infrastructure is suggestive of the hope
we had reposed in its inception. Our path to success was not a bed of roses. Yet we didn’t
lose hope.
I congratulate Ms. Asna Nafees and her committed team for choosing relevant themes
every year for the Annual Day. It is a much awaited event enjoyed by all in the community.
Regards
I congratulate Ms. Asna Nafees and her dedicated team for depicting an appropriate
message of hope which will motivate students to hold on to hope when everything appears
gloomy. The theme of this year’s Annual Day conveys that winter is tough to endure but
spring follows. Never let go of hope in oneself even in the most difficult situation- dream,
take action and live the life you wish.
Regards
The theme of this year’s Annual Day points out that if we had no winter, the spring would
not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so
welcome.
I congratulate my devoted team for their efforts in making this Annual Day a success.
I thank all members of the Management for lending incessant support and guidance in
making our dream a reality.
I thank all my support staff for helping in the smooth conduct of the function.
When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all
is dire and bleak, there is always hope.

SPEAKING ROLES:
The Senior Wing Annual Day is a platform, for both teachers and students alike, to showcase their
talents on stage before an august audience. This year, too, we have tried to put forward a theme
Ummeed-e-Bahaar - Seasons of Life. It portrays the emotions that man undergoes in his life's journey,
which does have a close resemblance with the fleeting nature of seasons. The children and teachers
have worked hand in hand to make this event a success. I wish each and everyone involved in this
event the very best as every hand or mind that was behind this event is very precious to us now and
in all the years to come.
"Achievements bring happiness in our life so we always have to strive for the best. I wish the very best
to the DPS-MIS family and I'm truly proud of the School to which I belong."
MS. VIJAYASREE
ACADEMIC COORDINATOR, CLASSES IX & X
Annual Day! The most awaited day for Children, Teachers and Parents!
Every year I wait for December to see the children performing on the stage with beautiful dresses and
wonderful themes of life. Our annual day is based on some themes, which I really appreciate. I feel,
there is something to carry home for everyone...it satisfies all sorts of people, some truths that need to
be conveyed. I wish all the best to my students. Let them bring the best in them and make this day a
wonderful, unforgettable day for everyone.
Annual day is the most awaited event of the year. It is a platform where children perform their various
talents. “Ummeed a Bahaar - Seasons of Life” gives positive message to life. My best wishes to all the
participants and teachers. I feel happy and proud to be a part of it.
MS. SANGHAMITRA ROY
HOUSE WARDEN, ROSE HOUSE
Every year my association with the cultural extravaganza, called the Annual Day of DPS-MIS, has
helped me mature individually and professionally. It’s an exciting experience wherein we harness new
talents and shape them to perform to the best of their abilities. I thoroughly enjoy the enthusiasm and
the team spirit that engulfs the whole school. It is of course a privilege to be a part of Annual day
which is the confluence of art and culture.
MATHEW C. KOSHY
HOUSE WARDEN (LILY HOUSE)
Annual day is a cultural extravaganza that brings the whole school together to learn, lead and help
one another through participation. Let us make this celebration festive and colorful. I express my
happiness and excitement for being part of this incredible occasion and also extend my best wishes
to all.
As an educator, I am most pleased to carry out the great mission of our school– nurturing our young
learners and bringing out the best in them. That’s what makes me all exultant to be part of our school
team preparing our children for the Annual Day celebration. Our Annual Day not only caters to the
various needs of our students, so that students with different aptitudes, abilities and interests will be
able to exploit their potentials to the full, but also equips our young minds with the necessary
knowledge and skills so that they can meet the demands of a fast changing world and become
lifelong learners. The theme of our Annual Day this year Ummeed-e-Bahaar, Seasons of Life, throws
light on the absolute realities of our life. More than just entertaining the audience by reveling on the
seasons of nature, it teaches our children that, in life, they should always sustain an optimistic vantage
point, dwelling on which they can endure all sorts of sour and bitter experiences of life. Therefore, our
Annual Day this year, like in the past, will throw colors to the spirit of our children, rejuvenating them
and teaching them the ultimate lessons of life. I just relish this pleasure of closely witnessing their joyful
learning.
MS.KAKOLI BISWAS
HOUSE WARDEN – (LOTUS HOUSE)
The upcoming Annual Day is going to be a showcase of talent, a day for the manifestation of our true
emotions and feelings to be brought to life through music and dance. When I see young minds
preparing for the Annual Day, I see creative energy at its prime. It’s been a joyful experience to be a
part of this grand celebration.
MS.NEENA SAJI PHILIPOSE
HOUSE WARDEN (TULIP)
This is my second time being a house warden and like every time the journey has been filled with wild
exuberance and surprises. Often as you try to inspire your students, it ends up with them inspiring you!
This year has been no different. The privilege of working around students who worked and
campaigned tirelessly with zest and intelligence and a group of well-organized, diligent co-teachers
has been a great learning experience and worth living again.
My message for all the students out there is simple. Life is multi-dimensional, go out there and explore,
don’t be afraid to try something new or of failure because success is how high you bounce back after
hitting the bottom.
Cheers to a great event!!!
Annual Day 2016-17, is definitely a spectacle of rhythm, music, dance and drama where the talented
budding stars of DPS MIS take the august audience through an enthralling journey of seasons blended
with emotions and varied hues. The time and patience that has gone into the event from all
perspectives viz; the students, teachers, senior management team and the management of our
school is commendable right from the stage of conception of the theme till its successful
implementation. Being a show that the school awaits with much eagerness and prepares with utmost
zest and zeal, this will turn out to be the finest Annual Day till date.
Annual Day is considered to be a good exposure to explore the innate talents in both the students
and teachers. It has given an excellent opportunity to be with talented and creative young minds to
execute the tasks assigned with utmost perfection. The experience was indeed memorable.
Moreover, it was an excellent break from the academics.

One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in any school is its annual day. The annual day
celebrations of school bring out the essence of cultural diversity. We teachers encourage each child
to explore their hidden potential and creativity. I convey my regards to all on this joyous occasion.
MS. PARVATHY GOPALAKRISHNAN
SEGMENT 3
Annual Day is one of the most anxiously awaited events of our school. Success of any great event can
be defined by the amount of hard work, planning, and dedication which has been put into it and this
year’s annual day is a living proof of this. I am honoured to be a part of this spectacular celebration
of talent.
I will cherish this annual programme forever. All my loving students will give their best efforts. I am very
much pleased with them and I am fortunate enough to be a part of this great day.
They are very much well behaved and disciplined. I am also happy working with them. I wish all of you

SEGMENT 4
“Effective performance is preceded by painstaking preparation” Brian Tracy.
This quote is appropriate to the measures taken by the mentors and the burgeoning stars of our
institution. Their outstanding endowments are showcased through this extravagant performance. Let
all the efforts become fruitful! Good Luck.
The annual days of DPS are the annual celebrations wherein the children get a platform to exhibit
their creativity. The inherent talent of children is discovered, polished through days of hard work, by
an efficient team of teachers so that the annual day resembles a beautiful necklace woven with great
concepts, superb dances and melodious songs.
Annual day is the exact time to cherish and nourish the inborn talents in children. Feel happy and
proud to be a part of this prestigious event. This annual day too will be yet another milestone in the
history of DPS. Being with children has given an excellent opportunity for me to remind me about my
schooldays. Wishing all success for Ummeed-e-Bahaar…Seasons of Life.
It’s a pleasure to be part of the annual day, which is the most awaited event of the year. Working as
a team, it gives me immense satisfaction to see our creative ideas brought to life on such a grand
stage.
It has been an amazing experience and I feel so special to be a part of DPS-MIS annual day. Working
here is a pleasure and it helps me develop my own skills.
Variety is the spice of life. Life without feasts and celebrations is charmless. It is true in case of school
life. Without colourful functions and celebrations, school life becomes monotonous and uninteresting.
The Annual Day celebrations add colour and charm to school life.
MS. JANAMMA RAMESH

“No child is dull and unintelligent, it depends upon the teacher as how to mould them in an
appropriate manner”. Every child is special and unique with an unimpressionable mind and it’s the
teacher who carves the talent and potential with the chisel of an artist as such to bring out the best
in them .My experience with the choir group is exotic! Being a music lover. I enjoyed each day with
zest and enthusiasm…As I mentioned above, the hard work of teachers behind each student bore
fruit, we could visualize and cherish the thrilling moments with zest and zeal.

SEGMENT 2 IN-CHARGE
To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you
want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little
more dance to it.” – Osho
DPS-MIS Annual Day is a wonderful platform which allows our students and teachers to showcase their
talents, creativity and imagination and it is indeed heart-warming and a pleasure to see the young
talents take center stage on this very special day. After months of preparations, rehearsals, flurry of
activities and excitement, the staff and students of DPS-MIS proudly present the 16th Annual Day,
‘Ummeed-e-Bahaar…Seasons of Life…’. I am extremely happy and proud to be a part of this exciting
event. The hard-work, dedication and enthusiasm of the students and teachers are sure to turn into a
grand and memorable show.
The Senior Wing Annual Day is one of the events that I am looking forward to. It has been a wonderful
experience working with such an enriched script. I enjoyed the practice sessions for this event to my
heart’s content. I wish all the best to everyone for the event.
It is an honour to be a part of the Annual Day of DPS-MIS. It is a way for all of us to show that we stand
united. We got an opportunity to exhibit our talents and to become more confident.
This is a great event where budding talent gets a platform to perform. Confidence levels, discipline,
teamwork, are some of the benefits the children gain through events like this. I am very excited to be
part of this great organizing team.
"I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think"
... Socrates
The parents’ hand over their kids as fresh buds to the school, with an expectation that their wards will
learn various subjects to find a place in the society as they grow up. We, the teachers at DPS MIS, take
each bud with utmost care and devote all our efforts to make it bloom in all the hues of life -- be it
learning of conventional subjects like Language, Science and History; or developing the potent
cultural resources a student comes with; or nurturing the sporting and other extracurricular skills the
student is embedded with.
Annual Day is the time to showcase the cultural spectrum of the blooming petals of the flowers-- the
senior students, who once joined this institution as infants-- as the proverbial buds.
We can assure you, each of the participating students came with talents galore, our job was only to
work as facilitators. The result -- you will witness today and will surely appreciate.
Once again, reiterating our faith in a holistic approach towards developing a child to become a truly
responsible matured citizen.
Every year I look forward to the Annual Day, as it provides me the opportunity to display my creative
innovations through set designs and props. I enjoy working as team and sharing ideas with my
colleagues. As an artist, working for the Annual Day promotes growth in my performance and it gives
me tremendous joy to be able to contribute my talent towards the success of this great event.
MR. SACHIN TIKADAR
ART TEACHER
As I am working here since more than one year, I had a wonderful and amazing experience. I took
this opportunity like a challenge. I feel I am exploring my hidden talents. Thank you all.
It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of this most awaited event of the school. It is here, where
our imagination gets wings to fly. Ideas are born and are transformed into tactile shapes and forms
which adorn the stage and mesmerize the audience. If not for the wonderful team of dedicated,
capable and enthusiastic teachers, we could not have fulfilled expectations and rise to the occasion.
Best wishes to the participants and teachers.
The most exciting time of the year is yet here again. The children show extreme happiness and pride
in being a part of the great day. And for all of us it becomes special to be a part of their excitement.
It’s our 16th annual day celebrations, and I wish all the very best to all the participants of this event to
make it a grand success.

With warm regards I would like to express my experience. This is my first annual day with DPS but for
the last 1 month I never felt that I am working here for the first time because we work as a team. I
never felt that I am new here. Secondly I would like to appreciate all the students as they all are rising
stars of DPS. We can't express their talent in words. I also can't forget the support of other teachers and
coordinators, dear Vice Principal ma'am and respected Principal ma'am.
MR. BIPLAB SEAL

One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in any school is its Annual Day. We all worked hard but

Variety is the spice of life. Life without feasts and celebrations is charmless and lifeless. So is it with
school life. Without functions and celebrations school life becomes monotonous and uninteresting.
Energy is being propelled in the Annual Day at DPS Modern Indian School. The function marks the
culmination of various cultural activities and gives students a platform to showcase their talents.
Every year, all near and dear to DPS – MIS family look forward to the Annual day Program. Amidst
beams of laughter, tears of sorrow, hard work, appreciation and criticisms, the final countdown has
begun for the most awaited moment. It is a complete team work where each and every
department is wholeheartedly involved for the success of the program.

My IT team was a little tensed about making the Audio Visual for the annual day because Principal
Ma’am had told us that the entire AV should be awesome and there would be surprises. But we didn’t
know what it was. When we came for the final rehearsal the entire IT team and the school got surprised
with the LED Video wall facility which Principal Ma’am had provided to us for the AV. Our tension
vanished into thin air and was replaced by excitement.
We thank Principal Ma’am and the Management for LED video wall and wishes the team all the very
best.

The annual day is the most awaited celebration. Each participant is enthusiastic and proud to get a

great skills like the importance of teamwork and coordination. I would like to thank all the teachers
whose support was prominent in making these memorable and cherishable moments remain in our

One of the most anxiously awaited occasions is our school annual day. Annual day is not just an event,
but it is something more, it is in fact an opportunity to unearth the hidden talents of each and every
one of us and this year’s event has provided me with a great learning experience. I believe that every
event achieves its success only when all of us are involved as a team. The time which I spent with my
team members is really memorable and the fun and frolic we had these days can never be forgotten
and are always cherished moments. With all the startling performances and vibrant costumes, this
event is going to be imprinted in the memory of every single person. It’s really great to be a part of this

I have been in choir for the past 2 years. The songs are amazing. The costumes are very pretty.
Teachers have done a lot of hard work. It has been a very nice experience for me. I’m thinking to
enroll for choir next year also. It was a different experience. I hope to get a chance next year as well.
It has improved my singing.
Annual day gives us an opportunity to exhibit our talents. I have been selected for the instrumental
(Keyboard) and I feel myself very fortunate to accompany the school choir to play the Keyboard. I
am very proud to be a part of this special occasion. It is going to be a great memory of my school life
forever.
I am in annual day choir this year. I chose choir this year to make it a different experience. I love singing
and trying choir was a very soothing experience for me. Teachers did a lot of hard work for this event.
Going to choir was mind refreshing after studies. I had a lot of fun in these few years of my choir
experience. I appreciate the chances given to me by the teachers for singing in the choir. They have
helped me improve my singing capabilities and made me a lot better. Thank you, annual day choir

When I couldn’t do my best at auditions, I was disappointed but after selection I was on cloud nine as
I have been given a chance to do better with learning more from my experience by practicing and
performing. This performance wouldn’t be shining without our smiles so, practice was a bit hard but
this has taught me to give a beautiful smile to the audience. Also, we all have gained self-confidence.
I hope we do our best on the annual day. I am sure we would be shining. We have been practicing
with lot of enthusiasm, will, energy, smile, confidence and I am sure our performance would bring
colours to our season theme, rain.

“Ummeed – e – Bahaar – seasons of life” is a very motivating theme given to the senior wing for the

their talents. Our teachers supported all of us and made the practice sessions more enthusiastic. Thus
we all pray that the annual day turns out to be a great success.
