BOY SCOUT AND GIRL SCOUT INVESTITURE 2019

EMCEE: To our beloved Principal, Dr. Ma. Noemi M. Moncada, to our guest speaker for this day’s event, to the
parents who are here today, guests, audience, troop members, investiture candidates, Ladies, and Gentlemen,
GOOD AFTERNOON!

I. PROCESSIONAL MARCH

EMCEE: This day marks the baptism of the new members of the boy scout and the girl scout troop of Lagro High
School. As they walk through the unique challenges of Boy and Girl Scouting, it is our earnest prayer that they will
be equipped and prepared to become a better member and an inspiring leader of their troop, school, and the
community.

With this year’s theme “Leading is Serving: Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Nation Building”, let us all witness these
dedicated individuals as they march with pride on this day’s special event.

And so, without further ado, let us all welcome all- together and acknowledge these active and high- spirited new
members of the boy scout and girl scout troop as they move to the new chapter of their lives as being servants of
the community.

II. ENTRANCE OF COLORS

EMCEE: Let us all rise a for the entrance of colors.

Everybody please remain standing for the opening prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem to be led
by Ms. Jezaniah Burce and pledge of Nationalism led by the Senior Crew Leader Kalhel Matthew Go.

EMCEE: Let us all now be seated.

III. OPENING REMARKS

At this point in time, to give her message of honor and appreciation, may we call on our very own institutional head,
Dr. Maria Noemi M. Moncada (Ma’am Enriqueta Buenaventura, Master Teacher II MAPEH Dept., Senior Girl Scout
Troop Leader, and soon to be Rover Circle Manager). Let us give her a very warm applause.

Thank you very much for that very warm message for the candidates Ma'am. (Makinig sa speech and take notes)

V. MESSAGE/CHALLENGE

EMCEE: For the next part of the program, may I request our very own Dr. Alith F. Masubay - Head of the MAPEH
Dept. (Ma’am Jenette S. De Sagun, Master Teacher I, Seior Girl Scout Troop Leader) to present to us the guest
speaker for today's event.

(After the speech of the speaker)

EMCEE: Thank you very much DEPEd Undersecretary Atty. Tonisito Umali (Honorary Member of the Girl Scouts of
the Philippines) for that inspiring and moving words for the scouts.

VII. INVESTITURE CEREMONY

EMCEE: The next part of the program honors the candidate scouts officially into the scout and guide family. There
is no “right way” for scouts to be invested, as long as each scout has a chance to make her promise and receive
both pins and neckerchief. This part welcomes new members to the brotherhood and sisterhood.

Let us start with the candle lighting ceremony.

A. LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES


EMCEE: This Candle flame represents the sisterhood and brotherhood bond that you all share. From the
experienced Senior Scout to the youngest ranked scout, pass on the flame of sisterhood and brotherhood---from
one to another. You will all now be moving from one level of scouting to another. From Junior Girl Scouts to Senior
Girl Scouts. From Boys Scouts to Senior Boy Scouts.

(10 GSP and 12 BSP will walk towards the stage to light their candles consecutively. Each will recite each scout
law)

(MUSIC WILL BE PLAYED: OPTIONAL)

GIRL SCOUT LAW


A Girl Scout’s honor is to be trusted.
A Girl Scout is loyal.
A Girl Scout is helpful.
A Girl Scout is a friend to all and a sister to every other Girl Scout.
A Girl Scout is courteous.
A Girl Scout respects living things.
A Girl Scout is disciplined.
A Girl Scout is self- reliant.
A Girl Scout is thrifty.
A Girl Scout clean in thought, word, and deed.

BOY SCOUT LAW

1. A Scout is Trustworthy. A Scout tells the truth. He keeps his promises. Honesty is part of his code of conduct.
People can always depend on him.

2. A Scout is Loyal. A Scout is true to his family, friends, scout leaders, school, nation, and world community.

3. A Scout is Helpful. A Scout is concerned about other people. He willingly volunteers to help without expecting
payment or reward.

4. A Scout is Friendly. A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He seeks to understand others. He
respects those with ideas and customs that are different from his own.

5. A Scout is Courteous. A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that good manners
make it easier for people to get along together.

6. A Scout is Kind. A Scout understands there is strength in being a gentle. He treats others as he wants to be
treated. He does not harm nor kill any living creature needlessly but will strive to save and protect all harmless life.

7. A Scout is Obedient. A Scout follows the rules of their family, school, troop. He obeys the laws of his community
and country.

8. A Scout is Cheerful. A scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries
to make others happy.

9. A Scout is thrifty. A Scout works to pay his way and help others. He saves for the future. He protects and
conserves natural resources. He carefully uses hiss time and property.

10. A Scout is Brave. A Scout can face danger even if he danger even if he is afraid. He has the courage to stand
for what he thinks is right even of others laugh at him or threaten him.

11. A Scout is Clean. A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He goes around with those who believe in
living by these same ideals.
12. A Scout is Reverent. A Scout is reverent towards God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the
beliefs of others.

EMCEE: Just as a tiny flame is passed from person to person, growing brighter & brighter as more candles are lit; it
is a dream that Scouting would be a bright beacon for girls and boys everywhere. May you all keep this dream alive
forever.

May you develop that same spirit within yourselves and the people you lead. In the spirit of Scouting, let your lights
shine!

B. RECITING OF GSP PROMISE/BSP OATH AND LAW

EMCEE: At this moment, may I call on Christopher T. Dela Cruz – Boy Scout Senior Crew Leader, Jenny Avila, and
Glodie Puapo- Chief Girl Scouts for the recitation of the scout pledge, oath of duty, promise and law.

(RECITE THE BSP AND GSP OATH, DUTY, PROMISE, AND LAW)

C. PINNING CEREMONY/DONNING OF NECKERCHIEF

EMCEE: The pinning ceremony and donning of neckerchief is a time-honored tradition marking the occasion to
welcome these participants as new scouts. It is a symbolic ceremony denoting a milestone in scouting, accepting
the duties and responsibilities as well as the broader commitment to society to engage and understand; to support
and transform.

So, as this point, may we invite the sponsors of the participants to stand beside their children as they pin the badge
and don the neckerchief into their young scouts.

(Pinning of Badge and Donning of Neckerchief Ceremony shall follow with the donation of the candidates and
sponsors)

The donations will be part of the scout funds, to continue and sustain its programs and activities so as to teach the
scouts to respect and value money. Thank you very much sponsors for the continuing support for the organization.

Emcee: Scout, we are trusting in you to keep the promise you have just made and to fulfill the responsibility as a
Senior Scout.

D. OATH TAKING OF THE PSA OFFICERS

EMCEE: In order to bridge connections with the parents of the scouts, the organization have arranged the Parents
Scout Association elections this October 2019. These best people will support not only the scouts troop funds but
will also help them become a responsible member of the scout. May I call on the newly elected PSA officers to come
here in front of the stage for the oath taking rites and recognition.

(Oath taking and recognition of PSA Officers)

EMCEE: Scouts, can we give this ever-supportive PSA Officers a very big applause?
Thank you very much parents for accepting the role as officers for this year’s PSA. Let us continue to work hand in
hand for the betterment of the organization.

E. FANCY DRILL PRESENTATION (Boy Scout)

EMCEE: This time let us witness a very wonderful performance as the Senior Boy Scout members will be
executing their mastered fancy drill presentation for everybody.
(After the performance)
EMCEE: Thank you very much Senior Boy scout members. Let us give them a well round of applause.

F. GIRL SCOUT PRESENTATION (IF POSSIBLE)


VII. MESSAGE OF THE INVESTING OFFICER

At this point, may I request the presence of Dr. Fine Bisquera, Senior Scouts troop leader and coordinator,
Boy Scout outfit advisor, and (Little Scout Executive, Little Principal) CD five field adviser to give her
message of acceptance and for the affirmation of responsibility to the new set of senior scouts.

Dr. Fine: May I present to you the candidates comprise of 100 boy scouts and 100 girl scouts which completes the
total number of 200 scout members, who have passed the membership requirements and wish how to be invested
as Senior Scouts in the movement.

“Senior Scouts, welcome to the brotherhood and sisterhood of guiding and scouting. Let us now together make our
affirmation to our responsibility”

VIII. SCOUT BENIDICTION

To complete the baptism of the new members of the boy scout and girl scout troop, may I request the presence here
at the stage the investing officers Sir Medrano and Dr. Fine to execute the scout benediction.

(After the Benediction)

This invocation is a symbol of blessing and opening of responsibility for the new scout members.

EMCEE: Senior Scouts, welcome to another step of being a scout member. Congratulations everybody. May you
inspire others to be part of this wonderful community.

IX. RETIRING OF COLORS

Scouts before we end this event, I would like you to hear this simple yet very moving statement from a popular
superhero, Spiderman, which I quoted “With great power comes great responsibility”

Scouts, the pin and the badge and the name given to you as Senior Scout will never be a recognition or an award
but a BIG RESONSIBILITY to carry on. Today, you will not be a normal student anymore but an individual of Honor,
Integrity, Trust, and Discipline. May you keep this in your minds and in your hearts. You are a scout and forever be
a SCOUT!

These individuals deserve a very big applause us.

To end this event, may I request everybody to please stand for the exit of colors followed by the recessional of the
new Senior Scouts.

(Music played for the Recessional)

EMCEE: This has been your master of ceremony for this event. Thank you very much and have a good night!

This marks a milestone in your lives as scouts and is a mark of progress for both you and your leaders. You as
Scouts in your council are moving forward as a small group just as the whole Philippine Scout organization is
constantly moving forward. It is a joyful journey you are following together and find that the greatest joy of the journey
is the friendship of working together, playing together and growing together.
