Binanog is inspired from
the movement of a
‘banog”, a Filipino term
for a hawk.
GINUYUZA
It is somewhat
similar to tug
of war but
each team
uses their
arms and
hands to pull
and drag
opposite team
instead of
rope.
BEBAYU
It is the act of
pounding rice
grains to
remove the
husks.

IP SPORTS AND MUSICAL PRESENTATION
DUSU’ SEGAKAD
Dusu’ is a pestle pushing dance. Segakad is a kind of race using
stilts to walk.
KULAHI BAND
Kulahi Band are a group of Talaandig tribe from Brgy.
Portulin formed April 10, 2012. Kulahi means “shout”, a
shout that advocates on how young IP’s could help in
protecting forest reserve through music.

Labakan is a single headed-drum used Agong is a musical instrument used by the

It is a piece of cloth which men bind around their waist.
BENGKEL
It is a piece of cloth which men bind around their head.

SELULUY
worn by the Binetunan (highly honored maiden) during the
Keligaan (thanks giving party of a DATU’). This is also worn
by a woman during her wedding. It‘s also worn by the ladies
and elders during the Seliley (form of ritual in sacred places),
and also when dancing “Binanog” and courtship dance. But
when seluluy was worn, the ”Tambur” or big drums must not
be played.

SUGONG/SEKERO
It is a bamboo container used to gather water.

AGONG, BANKEW, KELASAG, SELOLOY

Bankew/Spear – there are two types of bankew: for hunting
and for battle/war.

Kelasag/Shield – - use by the Beganis on battle/war to
defend their selves. It is made by a very durable wood that
cannot be broke when stroke by enemy’s blade.
WOMEN’S ACCESSORIES
Necklaces, bracelet and earrings made of multicoloured small beads
together to make a pattern.

SINU-LAMAN
This is a century old Sinu-laman, a property of the Manobo tribe in
Brgy. Adtuyon. It is a heavily embroidered traditional Manobo dress
worn by women on special occasion.
TINADTARAN
It is a traditional Manobo dress with decorative patter ns worn by
women on special occasion.

This Logo is the Municipal product trademark

represents the three major colors of the
Menubu’ (Manobo) tribe.
1. – symbolizes the bravery of the Tribal people

with their Begani in protecting their ancestral
lands.
2. – serves as cover to the Tribal people. The
black will hide them from the sight of evil elements.
3. – this symbolize that the tribal people are
peace loving. This also symbolize the purity of their
relation to “ Ne Nugawa’ Nen Limbag”(God).
4. White symbolizes Pangantucan, which
means wisdom and strength.
5. The black symbolizes Lumpanag peak
6. The red symbolizes Keretungan
