Course Title: HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR OPERATION


Nominal Duration 120 Hours
Qualification Level NC II
Course Description This course is designed to enhance the
knowledge, skills and attitudes to gather
interpret and convey information in response to
workplace requirement; to identify role and
responsibility as a member of a team; to promote
career growth and advancement; to comply with
regulatory and organizational requirements for
occupational health and safety; services to
specification of materials; on requesting and
receiving construction materials and tools; on
identifying and measuring objects; on checking
and performing preventive maintenance
including storing of tools and equipment; on
identifying, interpreting, on analyzing and
interpreting symbols, data and workplace;
applying in Hydraulic Excavator operation and
in accordance with industry standards. It covers
specialized competencies such as perform
Hydraulic Excavator pre- and post-procedures;
perform Hydraulic Excavator equipment
operation; and perform basic preventive
maintenance for Hydraulic Excavator.

RULES ON ATTENDANCE
Attendance is a way of monitoring student participation in class. A student
who incurred absences more than 20% of the prescribed number of classes
and laboratory hours in a given subject matter shall be automatically
dropped from the class roll.

CHECKING OF REGISTRATION FORMS


During the first day of classes, the facult7 member must check all
registration forms. Students without the official registration form should not
be allowed to attend the class. In case the student lost his/her registration
form, the student is advised to get a certification from the Registration
coordinator. The Registration Coordinator shall issue a certification that the
student is officially enrolled in the class.

CHECKING OF THE ATTENDANCE


Attendance is checked every first day of classes, late enrollees and those
who submit their registration forms after the first day of classes shall be
marked absent for the days he missed. The class instructor should maintain
a class record folder for this purpose.

THE 20% ATTENDANCE POLICY


All students are required 80% attendance in each class and are only allowed
the maximum number of absences as follows:
5 unit subject 17 absences
3 unit subject 10 absences
2 unit subject 7 absences
1 unit subject 4 absences
Note: A student who is late for fifteen (15) minutes should be marked absent
but may be allowed to attend the class.

TARDINESS AND CONSTRUCTIVE ABSENCES


A student who comes late shall be marked tardy or “T” provide that the
student did not exceed the maximum limit of 15 minutes per hour. Three
tardiness marks is equivalent to one (1) absence. A student who leaves the
classroom and stays out for the duration of the class period without the
professor’s permission shall be marked absent. All students who are absent
shall secure an Admission slip from the Guidance Office for readmission.
