Everytime I create this flu"y unicorn to gift to a special child or person, I always
get the greatest reaction! One time I created it for a friend’s niece for her
birthday and she immediately hugged and rocked with it and would not let go!

And just this past weekend, I also crocheted this unicorn amigurumi for a friend’s
daughter who was turning 1 years old. Upon presenting the doll, there were quite a
few oohs and aahs!

It was quite funny how the unicorn was almost the same size as the baby girl, but I
really do hope they will become the best of pals!
The features of this unicorn amigurumi include a fat body with an elongated head. The
mane and tail is quite furry as I used eyelash yarn for it.

He has eyes that pop that adds humor to his expression, and he is made in the very
bright and cheerful colors of pink, white, and yellow. Of course, you can add your own
twist and use whatever colors are your favorite!

Here, you can see the unicorn with my cat, Callie, for size reference. As you can
see, he’s a pretty flu"y size!
And we can’t leave out Hobbes, our orange tabby cat. Here she is photobombing
during a photo session. She would also like to get in on the unicorn action!

Red Heart Super Saver (worsted weight, acrylic yarn)

– White

– Shocking Pink

– Petal Pink

– Lemon

ICE Yarn

– Extra Long Eyelash in Bright Pink (3 skeins)

OR another alternative is LionBrand Fun Fur yarn (2 skeins)

NOTIONS:

– Polyester Fiberfill

You will use this ch to embroider a square spiral for the nostrils.

FEET (make 4)

Round 1: With hot pink yarn, 6 sc into magic ring.

Round 3: [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] around – 18 sc.

Round 4: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st] around –
24 sc. Round 5: In back loop only, sc in each st

Round 9-13: With white yarn, sc in each st around – 24
sc. Fasten o", leaving a long tail.

MANE

With 2 strands of Bright Pink Eyelash yarn and 1 strand of worsted weight Hot Pink
yarn With 5.5mm crochet hook

Row 1: Ch 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across – 20 sc.

Row 2-18: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across –
20 sc. Fasten o", leaving a super long tail.

Fold in half, sew closed.

TAIL

With 2 strands of Bright Pink Eyelash yarn and 1 strand of worsted weight Hot
Pink yarn With 5.5mm crochet hook

Row 1: Ch 19, sc in next 12 ch across, hdc in next 6 ch – 18 st.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, hdc in next 6 st, sc in next 12 st – 18 st.

Row 3: Sc in next 12 ch across, hdc in next 6 ch –

18 st. Row 4:Ch 1, turn, hdc in next 6 st, sc in next 12
st – 18 st. Fasten o", leaving a long tail.

UNICORN AMIGURUMI ASSEMBLY

1.Stu" parts.

2.Sew Head onto Body

3.Sew Eyeballs to Head.

4.Cut out small circles from black felt and glue onto Eyeballs with Fabri-tac for the pupils.
5.Sew Ears to Head.

6.Sew Horn to Head.

7.Sew Limbs to Body.

8.Sew Tail to back bottom of body.

9.Sew Mane to back of head.

10.Embroider square spiral onto nose.

11.Hide and cut o" all ends.

Cute unicorn! My grand daughters are going to love them!

A couple of questions: the pattern does not reference what hook to use
when making the body parts…I’m assuming the 5.0mm?
Also, when you reach the end of a row, do you connect with a slip stitch and
chain 1 or continue in the round? No directions for that.

I do like all the photos and the placement directions will really come in handy.

Hi Lynda, thanks! Yes, for all the body parts (except for the mane and
tail), the hook size is 5.0mm. And at the end of the rounds, you do not
slip stitch. You just keep continuing in the round. Hope that clears
it up and happy crocheting!
