2019-2020 School Improvement Plan Action Flow Chart

Goal 2:
Riverwood Elementary will promote students' self-respect, management of emotions,
concern for others, and responsibility by providing professional learning opportunities
(instruction, modeling, and support/intervention) for staff. Riverwood Elementary
School will reduce the number of office referrals by 10% from the 2018-2019 school
year.

ALL teachers are attentive to students' emotional states, guide students in managing
their emotions, and arrange for supports and interventions when necessary.

The counselors currently provide K-5 students with a social/emotional lesson every seven
days. Riverwood Buddy classes (PreK-5 and EC) meet once per month as a minimum.
Grades K-5 students, with a social/emotional need, are provided a staff mentor to meet with
weekly. Ramtastic kudos are provided by staff members to recognize students for exemplary
choices and actions. Students in grades 3-5 are given the opportunity to choose a club, based
on their interest, to participate in during the year. The clubs are hosted by teachers and are
based on the teachers’ interest in students.
