D. Read some historical facts about places in Cali. Choose a place in Cali and write a short story about it.
(Based on historical facts – Around 100 words- present and past tense)
Two stories about famous places in Cali.

There is a famous street behind the Club Noel Clinic in Miraflores neighborhood. According to the architect
Jorge Santacruz the original name of the street was La Calle de la Santa Infancia but it changed to La Calle del
Muerto after a singular event in the city. Santacruz says that according to the oral tradition, in 1952 a man was
killed and the assassins wanted to take him to Jamundi but they did not have enough time to take him there all
the way as the first lights of the day broke. So, they decided to leave the dead body on a street that changed its
name due to this happening.

Another singular story is related to El Puente de los 1000 Días. The name was given after the bridge was
supposed to be built in 15 days but the builders took 3 years which is more than 1000 days. The name was not a
memory of the war of the 1000 days but it is a sarcasm to protest against the great delay.
